The hostel was dead when I was there - November. It is actually in the city and not anywhere near the Zhangjiajie Reserve. Its a fine place to stay if your flight arrives late. The staff are very friendly and helpful. However, I had booked for two nights and when I went for a refund the following day (for the second night) they refused to give me it - this was annoying and they really did not understand English so I just gave up. The rooms are nice, the city also but only for a night.
