I stayed at this hotel on Business for 3 nights between June 30th - July 4th. This is the best hotel that i have stayed in. the hotel looks awesome at night. The receptionist was so frendly and helpfull and spoke English very clearly. I had a non smoking room on the 7th floor overlooking the Golf course. The room was fantastic with everything that you could ever need, Iron and ironing board, hair dryer, soaps, shampoos, conditioner, tooth brushes, toothpaste, shower gel, Mini bar, safe, cd player, high speed internet access, Very large flat screen TV with over 15 english channels including HBO and Star movies. The bed had a memory form matterass and was so comfotable. There is a glass wall between the bathroom and bedroom with blinds in the middle of the glass which you can open/ shut if needed useing the switches in the bathroom.
We ate in the resturant every night for around 200 cny which is around £20 there are 3 returants in the hotel but we chose to eat in the Bar area where every night a Reggie band played (they were very good). We also ate breakfast there for 140cny (£14) which was an all you can eat hot/ cold selection and was very good qualityand great value for money.
The Hotel has a largew indoor heated pool, Steam room, Spa, hot tub and fitness room.
the Hotel is only a short walk away from the town centre where there are many Resturants for all types of food.
i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who has to travel to Teda.
(sorry for the picture quality as they are off my Phone, the Camara pictures are 8mb which are too big for Trip Advisor)
I attended a conference in this hotel and arrived a few days before the conference began. The weather was very hot and I wondered why the air-conditioning didn't seem to work well in my room. Strangely, a few days later when the conference started (when a few hundred conference participants arrived and checked into the hotel), the air-conditioning began to function properly and I even got newspaper delivered to my room every morning. That was when I realized the hotel chose to be "good" when the big clients arrived. Obviously, the hotel was trying to be stingy!
Other than that, the room was very nice with a very beautiful bathroom. The bed might be a little fluffy though. The buffet breakfast was very nice.
The location of this hotel should not be a determining factor for your stay. Nobody should go to TEDA (the new economic zone of Tianjin) unless you have business to do there. It's some kind of no man's land, very dull and ugly. If you want to see Tianjin, you should stay in old Tianjin.
Our group paid for the upgrade to an "executive floor," which got us free breakfast in the morning on the 12th? floor and free drinks there too. Overall it was probably worth it.
The rooms were excellent, even by western hotel standards. Like many things in China, there were a couple small details wrong with it (light burned out, fridge broken) but the staff corrected these things when asked.
The food and hospitality was very nice. The hotel is within walking distance of a Starbucks. Go out front door, take a right. Walk a few blocks to the big intersection with the art in the middle of the street and the Starbucks is ahead and to the right, kind of along the side of a big plaza.
The hotel is close to many dining options, though the food inside the hotel was pretty good too.
Kind of pricey, but good location, walkable streets and excellent service.
To start with the only bad thing: the quality of food for lunch and dinner needs to be improved as the food tends to be too bland and fatty.
The breakfast though is great with a variety of european and asian dishes.
I stayed a total of over 8 weeks in 2007 in this hotel and it is a very nice property: a good business center, a large pool, a good gym 24 hours open to guests, a nice bar, clean and large rooms & amenities.
My first proper trip to China and wasn't sure what to expect. This hotel is fabulous, the service is immaculate, the level of comfort is luxurious and the food choice is not only massive but also brilliant. I've stayed at some fine hotels courtesy of my work but this is right up there with the best. Infact I cannot fault it. Excellent.
I travel to China a lot on business to Tianjin. This hotel is probably one of the best in this TEDA area.
This hotel looks very new, and clean. All the staff seems to smile and friendly. The gym is hugh with sauna, in-door pool. Although I have to confess that I have been too busy this week, and did not have a chance to use it. I did have a walk-around to check it out. The buffet is outstanding, with a lot of variaty of quality food, chinese, japanse, western, koren, Indian, and so on. They buffet also include several custom stations that they cook eggs, noodles, fish and steak for you. You pick the ingredients, and tell them how you want it cooked. Wonderful deserts too.
The bar is hugh, and with a live band weekends. One thing that kind of intereting was I ordered a gin and soda. The order came with several glasswares. A glass with ice, the soda in a belly shaped bottle, and the gin came in a graduate cylinder, I had to mix my own drink. It was quite unusual.
The location is great, directly across from a golf course. Within walking distance from nice restaurants and a favorite water-hole for expats. There are hugh new shopping malls within three blocks of the hotel.
It is on a busy thorough fare road, a lot of traffic through the day. One concern would be crossing the street. There does not seem to a crosswalk, and the lightiing is poor. If one walks out at night, car may not see you. It may be safer to get a taxi.
This was a fantastic hotel and a great deal. The hotel itself is about 3 years old, so it's relatively new. There's also a section of the hotel that is about 1 year old, but the rooms aren't much different.
Access to the Club Lounge (12th Floor) is recommended, and it can be purchased on a per-day rate that is relatively cheap. The lounge access includes buffet breakfast, cocktail hour, dessert hour, and it will also give you free internet both in the lounge and your room. For the internet and breakfast alone, it's worth the upgrade.
Staff was very attentive and most spoke English well (even the bellhops). The rooms are well accented and very comfy. I will definitely plan to return here for future visits to TEDA.
The hotel was quite nice. It is located in the economic development zone of Tianjin so everything in this particular area appeared to be new, including the hotel. The area appears to be comprised of factories, hotels, restaurants, golf courses and the homes of those that manage and or work for the businesses mentioned. If you want to do some sightseeing, you may wish to stay in the city of Tianjin instead of the TEDA zone.
Rooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The internet speed was fast. All the standard bathroom amenities and more were present: toothbrushes, combs, bath salts, lotions, shampoo, conditioner, etc.
The breakfast buffet was quite good and featured foods from a variety of countries. Japanese, Korean, British, American, Chinese, etc.
The Chinese restaurant was fine. Our supplier held a dinner for us there.
The staff was very friendly , helpful and inquisitive.
Directly across the street from the hotel is a golf course which is open to the public. For those needing a Starbucks fix, just walk out the main entrance of the hotel and go to the right. Approximately two to three blocks away you will see it along with a shopping mall. In the same complex is a grocery store, a KFC, pizza restaurant and several other restaurants.
This is by far the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. Bed was like diving into a big fluffy cloud. The bathroom is luxurious with separate tub and shower. A bubble bath was a wonderful way to unwind after a 6hr flight from Singapore and 2hr drive from Beijing. LCD TV, bath robe & slippers. Room service was excellent, pool/gym were top-notch. I enjoyed the small souvenir shop, too. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. This hotel is a true oasis in the middle of the dusty, polluted Tianjin Economic Development Area...and room rates are amazingly low.
This is a first class hotel with nice comfortable rooms and a good breakfast buffet with American and Asian entrees. Staff is helpful. Shopping center next door. Good central location if you have to be in Tianjin.

Renaissance TEDA is an excellent hotel.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times now and would reccomend it, the rooms are quite nice and a good gym and swimming pool.
It is walking distance to various bars and restaraunts but also has a nice bar inside.
