I have stayed in this hotel many times as it is near the factory with which my company does business. I was there for a week in May and again found it to be the best hotel available. While I was on a low floor with no view whatsoever, I still enjoyed the large, well appointed room. The Club Lounge (must be in Club level room) is a great place for breakfast or evening drinks. The gym is excellent and large. The staff is warm, friendly and always there if you need them.

I had dinner in the Chinese restaurant on this trip with a group of my Chinese suppliers and we all loved it. Fantastic food and great service and ambiance.

The surrounding area continues to grow and be developed at an amazing pace. I go walking in the morning and marvel at all the continuous improvements. Suzhou is now putting in a subway system.

This is a great business hotel, perfect for my needs.

this was arguably the best hotel we stayed in while we were in china - We were on a Ritz tour and probably stayed in about 5 or 6 hotels - most of which were supposed to be at least 4 stars or better. Renaissance definitely deserves its 5 star rating. Prior to us arriving there, the tour guide assured us that we were about experience THE nicest hotel on the tour. the rooms are spacious, the beds are extremely comfortable ( don't know what the thread count of the sheets are but they were heavenly) - add to that silk filled pillows, comforters and a silk filled "feathertop" on top of the mattress and you are on your way to the best night's sleep you've had in a while. Bathrooms include a shower AND a soaking tub and actually feels more spa-like rather than a bathroom. Add to that service people who are willing to please and a monumental buffet both at breakfast and dinner with so many options and choices that you could be there all day. But you won't be cause you will be busy going to the silk factory and buying the silk comforter and pillows that were on your bed in the hotel! I give it 5 stars..............Only downside is its not really close to anything of import but it more than makes up for that with the quality of service and accomodation

After a 2 week business/lesuire trip to China I have to conclude that the Renaissance Suzhou Hotel was definitely the best in all departments. Starting with the room which was large and spacious, all room furnishings were in an excellent state with the the ensuite having a bath and spcacious shower.

The staff were extremely courteous and helpful and efficient, a special thanks to Michael at the business centre who was extremely helpful with my onward flights and accomodation. The location is in the newer part of Suzhou only a short taxi ride from the shopping and downtown area.

There is a choice of restaurants around the hotel all within easy walking distance (however I regret not eating in the hotel maybe I would have been able to fault it somewhere) . I wouldn't even bother trying another hotel when I next go to Suzhou the Renaissance would be my automatic choice.

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in (and only 589 RMB on expedia!!). Amenities are wonderful and staff are friendly. Perhaps not the most central location for visiting the gardens but taxis are cheap and the concierge is very helpful.

I have stayed in all of the good hotels in Suzhou and would say that the Renaissance is easily the best. Service is efficient and friendly, rooms are excellent. The area is developing into a very tourist friendly one. Highly recommended
