Stayed here 2 nights with our China Spree tour group.

Positives: Very stylish room with frosted glass closet doors and bathroom wall/door. Flat screen TV, beverage area with fridge. Beautiful tile shower stall, no tub. Coffee & tea available in the room. Excellent breakfast buffet.

Negatives: Had trouble with the hot & cold water in the shower: it was either very hot or very cold and would change without touching the handle. Bathrobes provided were teeny-tiny.

Location: just a short walk to a grocery store, "Vanguard", for snacks and drinks. The alley behind the hotel is full of street snack shops with everything-on-a-stick.

Of all the Holiday Inn we stayed in China, we like the Holiday Inn Jasmine Suzhou the best. It is newer than all the three which we stayed in, the location is great.

It is near shopping center, it is only a few blocks away. Right behind the hotel there is a massage parlor. We wanted a foot massage after all day of touring, but we had such a hard time communicating with the receptionist we end up not doing it. So, we got our foot massage at the hotel. It was expensive, they charged 45 minutes for $88 Yuan and it was not that good.

Behind the hotel there open market (hawker) where you can buy street foods. We had a wonderful time at the market, the best food we ever had was the roasted corn for $ 6 yuan. We also try the stinky tofu, which we didn’t like at all. It doesn’t called stinky tofu for nothing. LOL. We felt completely safe at night. We also wonder into the shopping center, the stuffs there were more expensive than what we have here in the US, so we didn’t buy anything.

The hotel offered free buffet breakfast, the spread is huge. Once again, basic toiletries were complimentary like toothbrushes, toothpaste, comb, lotion and such. Free Wifi in the room. They have a business center, so the internet at the business center is not free. It was $ 6 yuan for the first 15 minutes and after that it is $6 yuan every 10 minutes.

We booked two rooms and each room has two double beds. Bed was very comfortable. It is very hard to find connecting room. I don’t think they even exist in this hotel.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for everyone to stay. Great hotel, great location.

I was in Suzhou in Holiday Inn Jasmine for one night, and the perception that I stayed from the hotel, is that this hotel is a very simpatic hotel!

It's well located, the hotel in general has a fresh aspect and clean, very pleasant employees, well decorated rooms with free internet which is always a very good aspect when you're in China and want to stay connected to the world!

The breakfast was good too!

Nothing to point about negative aspects!

it is a good hotel in old district of Suzhou. but very near to some famous shopping area in suzhou ( just 1 minutes walk ).

my room was on 21th floor. very nice view of the city. a big room with nice amenities such as LCD tv , free High speed internet coonection in room, very nice and modern Bathroom.

All the parts of room was clean and cosy. there were Iron And ironing desk in room.

i didnt try the breakfast there. also i think the price for breakfast was not reasonably ( 110 RMB.! )

the front desk were polite and helpfull with good english speaking. i enjoyed my stay there.

A wonderful hotel in a brilliant location. Beautiful facilities and great staff. Our room (1602) was spacious, beautifuly appointed and had great views over the city. Bed and breakfast - $A145 per night

Very comfortable (but hard) king twin beds, plenty of floor space for suitcases - and sorting the shopping, internet connection and a couple of very comfortable chairs and a desk.

Large wall mounted flat screen TV with great instructions to use the remote. Chinese channels plus BBC World and CNN.

Great bathroom. Everything very clean and well maintained.

Large spacious reception area and a good lobby bar and coffee shop. Fabric chairs badly needed a shampoo.

Plenty of Asian and Western choices at breakfast.

Well appointed gym.

Best hotel we have stayed in during 2 visits to China

I was there in April 2007.

Hotel very new and beautyful, but very bad service in the reception: they refused to put any mile on my Continental and Qantas frequent flyer programs.

Room on 19th floor, great wiew on the city; bathroom not comfortable: there is only the shower there; in a 4 star hotel you expect to have the possibility to take a true bath in your bathroom, but in that Holiday Inn your expectations will turn in disillusionment.

Once more I am glad I read the TripAdvisor reviews before I booked one night in Suzhou. Both previous reviews were entirely accurate.

The hotel rooms are very well designed and furnished. Light switches can be controlled from the bed. Bright focused ceiling lights provide ample lumination for reading in bed. The television effortlessly rotates so it can be viewed from the upgraded junior suite sofa or the bed. The bath is spacious and the amenitites are plentiful. The pants press helped make a neat appearance on the hot humid summer days in Suzhou. The a/c was powerful and whisper quiet at the same time. These are just some of the small things that add up to an excellent room experience.

The entire property is well maintained and in like new condition. The breakfast buffet as previously mentioned was just fine for diversity and quality. I give it 4 1/2 points, just shy of the 5 points for the spread at the Intercontinental in Shanghai Pudong. In fact, the entire hotel is an average 4 1/2, but I rounded up to 5.

The staff were pleasant and conversant in English at every turn. They have ingrained smiles on their faces. The location, as noted, is just outside the old city, and short inexpensive taxi rides get you to the entire old area and all the gardens.

As to value, this clearly is a five-point-plus hotel. They have been running a 598 yuan special which includes double upgrade to a junior suite like we had when you join the Priority Club program. This includes two free breakfast buffets and free internet. That is a $30 savings right there. I checked the other upscale Western-oriented hotels in Suzhou, and their prices for a basic double room are almost double the price of the Jasmine Holiday Inn junior suite product of 50 sq. meters! I think you need to book this special directly.

Having been in the commercial construction industry for many years, I felt I finally stayed at a hotel which worked as intended. No problem giving this property an unqualified thumbs up.

We stayed 10 days at this hotel in Suzhou. The building is very nice, and kept in excellent condition. The public areas are very nice, and our upgraded room was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was first rate, with a wide variety of western and Chinese dishes, with some additional treats from Japan and Malaysia. The formal Chinese restaurant had a variety of local (Shanghai style) dishes and very attentive service.

The hotel is located 2 blocks from the old city moat on the northwest side of the old town. There is a lot of shopping around the hotel, and dozens of interesting alleys lined with vendor stalls to explore. At night everything is lit up with neon and colored lights. Having said that, the hotel is not in the best location for either the industrial park or the new district. I had a 40 minute cab ride during rush hour (about 20RMB) to get to my office. Cabs could be a little scarce if it was raining, although hotel staff was excellent about getting taxis for the guests.

One suggestion: Purchase the upgrade "executive" package, which cost be perhaps $10 or $15 a night. This includes two breakfasts, up to 4 cans of pop from the mini-bar, and a first rate room.

I stayed for two weeks and every day, every meal, and every time I made contact with an employee I was treated like a king.

The room was great, the resteraunts have great food and the chef takes pride in every dish. I will stay here in the future and also tell others of my experience. All hotels should learn from these employees how important it is to satisfy the customer.

I cannot Thank the employees enough for making my stay so nice and comfortable.
