My husband and I were booked into this hotel by university colleagues

in Nanjing and were impressed with it. The hotel is listed as 4-star but it's certainly a step up from other hotels we stayed at on this trip: the 4-star Park Hotel in Shanghai (though the location is excellent) and the 5-star Nikko New Century Hotel in Beijing which were both a little disappointing in comparison. Our room was large (with a separate, proper desk) and decorated in a modern, urban (admittedly Western) style; the bathroom was quite spacious and shiny

clean. We had a few meals in the main Chinese restaurant, both hosted by colleagues (who knew what the Nanjing specialties were!) and by ourselves. It's quite a classy and popular restaurant but reasonably priced compared with some 4-5 star hotels. The hotel is located very close to the unversity (it's used a lot by them though it's owned by the provincial electricity board!); it's also close to a metro station and only one or two stops - or a shortish walk - to the city centre. I'd certainly stay here again.
