The hotel is in a perfect location, since it is in the Old Town, but down a road that is not as noisy.
The rooms are not decorated, and they could use some brightening up, and the walls are thin, so you can clearly hear what is going on outside your room.
The staff tries very hard to be helpful, but it is sometimes hard to communicate clearly with them.
Overall, though, for a cheap hotel, you're not going to find much better.

THIS IS A GREAT HOSTEL, AWAY FROM THE NOISE OF THE TOWN. THE STAFF IS NICE AND IT IS AFFORDABLE.
The staff was very helpful, but we still had several problems arranging for a tour to Tiger Leaping Gorge. It was a bit tricky to find, but their map and other locals were helpful. While it was not in the central part of Lijiang, it was great because it was very quiet at night.
