Me, my partner and our little toddler spent the 2009 valentines holiday in Hongkong. We stayed at the Langham Place. I frequent Hongkong and I usually stay at the Marco Polo Prince.
The reason why I chose to try to stay at the Langham Place was because I have read in their website that this hotel is high tech. Truly, it is. The airconditioning unit is touch screen, there are speakers for ipod, the tv is plasma which can be converted to an internet tv, meaning you can access the internet thru that big screen, and to top it all, the phone inside the room can be used within the hotel premises- you can text and call fopr free!
If you love paintings and artworks, the hotel is stashed with a lot of beautiful paintings- mostly pastel in paper. In the entrance are huge bronze sculpture of a famous artist.
The fetch from the airport is a mercedes limousine. Entering the hotel, you can really smell this nice nice scent. The staff are friendly and courteous. When you see the rooms you would want to stay here for the rest of the vacation!
Just yesterday, I read in the magazine that Kris Aquino usually stays in this hotel too.
My son enjoyed the bath tub and the big tv full of his favorite movies :) While I was there to enjoy and relax, my partner enjoyed shopping at the ladies Market which is 2 blocks away. Going to the Prince area for Signature shopping is also easy. it is just 5 minutes away from the malls.
I took my father to Hong Kong for his Xmas present and after looking at reviews for various hotels I opted for the Langham Place and it was a great decision! we had a residence suite on the 37th floor with stunning views over the city and the harbour. We booked the limousine transfer from the Airport through the hotel which was worth the money after a long flight, we arrived in the airport and went to the Langham desk to be greeted by a choice of drinks and our cases taken off us - we didn't then have to touch the cases until we unpacked in the room. On arrival at the hotel we were taken to the private check in in their club L lounge and again provided with refreshments whilst we checked in. The staff were courteous and polite at all times and made us feel right at home. The room was large with all the amenities you could want and whilst the mini bar was expensive, that is what you expect from any large city hotel. The beds were comfy and if I could have unplumbed the shower and put it in my case to bring back to the UK I would have done! The benefits of the Club L lounge are massive - breakfast (Albeit simple) provided daily and free tea, coffee and alcoholic drinks all day. We spent quite a bit of time in there between ventures into the area relaxing, enjoying the views and unwinding - perfect. The restaurants in the hotel are excellent but on the expensive side however again, along with the standard of quality comes the price you pay. The area around the hotel is great for hustle and bustle and lots of markets near by to browse and pick up bargains. A first class hotel that knows how to treat people - I would return tomorrow.
We really booked this off the back of Tripadvisor reviews. When I spoke to a couple of people who knew Hong Kong they raised their eyebrows suggesting that Mong Kok was a bit of an odd location. I liken it to the difference between staying in the West End of London vs East London. Or (if you don't know London) the difference between staying in Brooklyn and Manhattan. When I got to NYC, I always stay in Brooklyn, better value, coolers, up and coming and perhaps a bit trendier. I think the same applies for Kowloon and Mong Kok. The Langham was only built in 2004 and it's in the same complex as the areas largest shopping centre and on top of a metro stop. Before it was built, it was an area that not many tourists visited so it does have a more local and more real feel than HK Island. The hotel is in the market district of HK and it's well worth taking the free tour at 6pm from the lobby which helps orientate and initiate yourself in the area.
The hotel itself is excellent. Service is as sharp as I've encountered and far better than equivalent hotels in the UK or US. We were staying in a Deluxe room (bog standard room) which was actually better than anticipated and larger with a spectacular view over to HK island. When we arrived we were offered a package which gave us access to all of the additional facilities including, breakfast, cocktails and afternoon tea in the club lounge (can't remember what is was called). This also gave access to the swimming pool on the roof and the hot pools and saunas. Breakfasts could be taken with an amazing view from the 46th floor, which was really something.
Overall I think this is a really great place to stay if visiting HK offering an excellent all round package.
This is a hotel that you really appreciate when you stay at another hotel. Everything is perfectly designed and the service is exceptional. Our room was average size for an Australian hotel, but reasonably large when compared to other hotels in HK. We had a great view of the harbour and markets below from our Club Room.
The assortment of cheeses, canapes, french Mumm champagne, a wide selection of beers and soft drinks and ample internet access was well worth the upgrade to the club room. Beers and wine etc are available for most of the day, while the champagne and a selection of spirits are only available for a couple of hours after 6PM.
At the last minute, we wanted to visit a particular restaurant at the habour and asked the concierge to book a table for two. When we arrived, the concierge had arranged for us to be seated in a prime window seat overlooking the HK skyline, and had organised a free glass of wine each.
The 6PM market tour was very useful and interesting, and was a great introduction to the Mongkok area. We felt completely safe in the area surrounding the hotel. The location is great for both food and shopping trips. One off the best meals we ate was at a local restaurant near the Temple Street Night Markets that served a selection of meat and rice dishes cooked in clay pots over a fire.
While slightly more expensive than Australian Hotels of around the same standard, this hotel offers excellent value in Hong Kong.
I would definitely recommend the Langham Place Mongkok to anyone visiting HK for business or holiday travel.
We stayed at Langham Place for four nights to kick start our big tour.
The hotel was pretty swanky, and a massive contrast to the hustle and bustle of Mong Kok where it is located. We actually loved being a bit further out for the centre - it took about half an hour to walk down to the harbour, but it meant we explored the back streets and saw more than just the standard tourist sights.
Staff at Langham Place were lovely and went out of their way to help, giving us maps of the city, telling us about all the NY activities, what to see and when to go - even drawing recommended restaurants onto our map so we could find them easily.
The room was spacious with a queen sized bed, nice big TV and every mod con you could wish for. The bathroom was a good size and well equipped with bath and shower - although a rather dodgy glass wall linked the bathroom to the bedroom - not for the the 'shy' traveller!
A good size gym was available free of charge on one of the top floors, with just about every piece of equipment you could need, plus a pool and a spa.
Breakfast was not included in the room rate, but we ate in the hotel restaurant for a dim sum lunch. The food was good, prices reasonable and a lovely setting, and the staff were falling over themselves to help.
There is also a mall attached to the hotel which is rather strange but good for a walk around to hold off jet lag - there's a cinema on one of the floors too which shows English movies, and a supermarket on the ground floor for groceries.
A first class hotel. Definately one of the best in Hong Kong. Stayed here during Chinese New Year week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Deluxe room on 28th flr was spacious with a great bathroom, amazing view of the city and huge bed. Excellent gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi on the 41st flr with more breathtaking views of Kowloon. And the swimming pool on the roof ! I would recommend this hotel for its service, rooms, facilities and all round 5 star feel. The location is in the heartbeat of Hong Kong with plenty to see, do and of course eat ! Getting around is easy as the MTR is beneath the Langham shopping mall. Simply faultless and will be staying here again for sure.
First, let me assuage any fears guests might have about the Langham Place being in a "bad" location. While there are a couple of dilapidated apartment towers nearby that aren't pleasing on the eyes, at no point did my wife or I have any fears about our safety while being out and about on the streets nearby. Probably the only reason this hotel is not more expensive is because it is further up the Kowloon peninsula (in Mong Kok) than other hotels. This is easily overcome by the fact that the hotel is connected to a really nice mall that has a MTR (subway) station. Hong Kong's MTR system is great for getting around, and if you need to be somewhere quick, the taxis are cheap. The mall that is connected to the hotel has a nice food court and even a small little supermarket if you want to stock up with water and snacks so that you're not paying minibar prices back in your room.
Very friendly front desk staff (gladly made change) and helpful concierge (got us reservations at Hutong-great view, disappointing food and Deerpark =best Peking Duck ever) for dinner. We booked the slightly larger "executive" room (330 sq. ft) and found it to be just fine, especially considering many reviews of Hong Kong hotels note the small size. As some people mention, the bathroom has a see through window to the bedroom, but you can pull down some shutters if you need privacy. Bed was comfy, room was very clean. You can definitely tell it is a newer hotel. We never made it to the roof top pool as there is just a ton to do in Hong Kong.
Also, the breakfast buffet is, although not cheap, absolutely fantastic, better than what I've had in Beverly Hills. In short, I would stay here again without hesitation.
we arrive via tour bus at driveway, bellboy gather our luggage. a lady greeted us, took us to elevator where we went up to the check-in lobby. we were greeted by a check-in staff. presented our passports. while waiting, the first lady who greeted us offered my whole family hot steaming towels, it was a nice gesture. we went up to our rooms shortly. upon inspection, it was roomy. bathroom was very clean & smell clean. it has complete stuff like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush & toothoaste, shaver & shaving cream, tissue box, 2 rolls toilet paper, hair dryer, soap. in the cabinet 2 bathrobe, 2 sets slippers, ironing board, electronic safe, shoe brush & shoe slip-in assist, detergent, sewing kit, shower cap, napkin bag, comb, emery board, cotton buds, laundry bag & request list. Ref is fully stocked. full complement of tea bags, coffee, sugar, cream, milk, 2 complimentary bottled water/day, coffee maker & kettle, power adopter in case you forgot to bring one, LCD tv & dvd player, internet connection, note pads, brochures, magazines, pocket size vicinity map showing hotel, banks, malls, food area. street markets, etc. lots of pillows. electronic control AirCon. Clock-radio with an ipod dock,
the only thing they don't have is a massager chair.
One time me & my wife return when the chamber maid was cleaning our room, since it was our room we walk straight in. after a few moments, the lady ask for my room card, and when i give it to her she tested in on the door. after making sure it was correct she return it and apologize for the inconvenience. gives you a sense of security too.
last day morning i went down to check out my room, after the desk inform me its ok, i turn around to go back upstairs, halfway i remember the other room of my kids. so i return and check out their room too. upon entering the elevator, i saw a bell boy with a luggage cart inside already, he ask what floor i was going, when i saw he had pressed 19 floor, i ask him what room he was going to. sure enough it was my room 1918 on a computer printed paper. i would say from the time i inform the front desk i was checking out to the time i meet the bellboy in the elevator it was one minute. that's a fast time for me. although we check out early 7:15am on a Monday morning.
The hotel is connected to the Langham mall via a sky bridge, very convenient for eating and shopping. also watching movies. and if you feel like it, the MTR subway is right beneath the mall, just take the escalators down to the basement level and you can reach almost all the notable places in Hong Kong vis the MTR system.
As usual, I scanned tripadvisor.com thoroughly before settling on a hotel for our hong kong trip, as there a lot of new hotels since I went in 2001. Langham Place stood out in the reviews and I booked via opodo.com for an Essential Place room at £121 prpn, which seemed a good deal for a 5* hotel in the centre of Kowloon.
The staff are polite to a fault, no request is too much trouble and my pregnant wife was treated like a princess! We were offered an upgrade to a Residence Suite, basically an Essential Place room with a sitting room and bar area. As a treat I went for it and have no regrets as breakfast was thrown in, free internet access for my laptop, and we were on the 36th floor, almost directly opposite the L Club (the exclusive hotel lounge). This meant a 30 second walk for unlimited coffee, tea and soft drinks! It also has an internet den and its own great group of staff.
We had breakfast on the first day downstairs which was very good, but after trying the breakfast at L club we weren't going anywhere else! How can you argue with cooked breakfast on your doorstep, with excellent service and a real air of exclusivity, not to mention fantastic views.
Particular mention goes to the Chuan spa on floor 41, wonderful massage rooms and treatments, changing rooms include a heated whirlpool bath, but this is all topped off with the huge heated swimming pool on the roof. It was not particularly warm in HK in January, so jumping into a heated pool was heaven!
There's no doubt where we would stay when we return to HK, we looked around at some other hotels and for atmosphere and service, I highly recommend the Langham Place.
We arrived in Mong Kok by the fantastic Airport Express Bus. Paid $HK33 for an hours journey having purchased an Octopus card (you must buy one). Entering the hotel via the beautiful shopping mall we were dealt with quickly and efficiently by the reception staff. We were told we had been upgraded to a better room which was nice. The room itself was very high up with great views over the city. The room was clean and well kept. Good facilities in the room as well. A very very expensive mini bar was emptied and replaced with our own wine and beer! The leisure facilities were really nice - A rooftop pool with jacuzzi and great views - A sauna, steam room and another jacuzzi in the changing rooms - A very well stocked gym with floor to ceiling windows (looked nice from the outside but we were on holiday!).
We didn't eat in the Hotel because we wanted to sample the local food and restaurant.
A lovely Hotel in a lovely City with lovely people!
As with every hotel we stayed in in HK, the service from the moment you car pulls up is exemplary. Your bags will be lifted out of the car for you and that's the last you'll see of them until they are brought to you room. A word of advice is not to turn up around midday as that is when everyone else is checking out and there is usually a queue at the regular reception.
We went for a 'Prime Place' room which is slightly more expensive than the Essential Place rates. You only appear to be able to book this via LP's own website but basically it is on an 'Essential Place' floor but is an end semicircular room so it has panoramic 180° views of the city. We were on the 30th floor and at night the vista was breathtaking (see photo.) We immediately paid an extra $550HK per night to upgrade to Club facilities. But I'll get onto that in a minute. The room has a Plasma TV with a variety of channels, many in English. You also get a colour printer/copier which you are free to use if you have a laptop etc. The bed was very comfortable with high count linen and LOTS of pillows - you can request a preference of what type of pillow you get which is a nice touch. There's also a desk, and armchair and a chaise longue.
The marbled bathroom has a separate bath and walk in shower. The shower has a regular head and a rainwater one coming out of the ceiling. The bathroom was very clean and has clearly been modernised recently. Slippers and dressing gowns are provided too and there were a selection of Molton Brown (I think) toiletries provided.
Also in the room is a mini kitchen with a microwave and sink. There is a wooden panel you can pull across which covers all this up if you don't want to use it. The minibar is expensive with small bottles of water at $45HK (approx £4.50). There are bottles dotted around the room so beware. The exact same bottles of water are available from the 7-11 across the road (and 30 floors down) for approx 42 pence! so nip out and replace any you drink!
Club facilities - $550HK or £55 a day extra approximately.
Club rooms are a little higher up floorwise and the Club lounge is on the 36th floor. Basically if you book a Club Room it is the same as an Essential Place size and spec but with the club benefits. We added the club benefits afterwards as mentioned above for a number of reasons. The benefits are:
1. Free wireless and wired internet. This was going to cost us $120HK per day PER COMPUTER if we'd booked it as normal in the room! With Club, even though it says to the contrary on the printed info, you can connect more than one laptop to the wireless and it's included in your Club package - we asked and we connected two and there was no extra charge. Also, as it won't tell you this in the information, once you've paid your Club upgrade, you just sign up and agree to the payment on the website and they deduct the charge from your bill - took us a while to work this out.
2. Free use of the Club Lounge. Here you can help yourself to free drinks and an ever changing choice of hot and cold snacks whilst relaxing in comfy chairs taking in the views of madness of Mongkok below. There are also two great big electric massage chairs facing a large aquarium if you need to de-stress! The drink selection is good with 5 or 6 choices of bottled beers, two or three different red and white wines, sparkling wine and even champagne between 6-8pm. All the soft drinks you can imagine and a huge automatic hot drinks machine which does cappuccinos, lattes, hot chocolates etc. The hot and cold food platters were replaced continually and were very good. A couple of people spending an hour in this lounge will justify the cost of it in one go!
3. Free breakfast in either the Lounge (which we didn't try) or 'The Place' main restaurant at the lobby level. The breakfast here was awesome. Again this made the Club charge worth it on it's own. Huge buffet with cereals, yoghurts, toast, a melon and tropical fruit bar, deli cheeses and meats. Also a hot food section where you could order your choice of eggs from the attentive chef and help yourself to hash browns, sausages, bacon, beans and a variety of other Chinese style things like turnip cakes etc... Coffee, Tea and juices were free flowing by the always excellent waiting staff.
4. You can check in and out in the Club lounge in comfort rather than the melee in the lobby.
We had a visit from Andrew the housekeeper who was on call at any time to help us with any room problems (of which there were none.) We ate at the in hotel Chinese restaurant called Ming Court which was fantastic. They helped with our choices and for two people with wine, a few courses and desert it came to $1450HK (£145) which was not bad as it was fine dining and was clearly very popular with the locals.
The hotel is located in Mongkok, Kowloon which is apparently the most highly populated area in the world based on people per square kilometer. You can see why, there are hundreds of high rise blocks with the old crumbling ones adjacent to the brand new modern ones. A few streets across from the hotel is Tung Choi Street, better known as Ladies Market. This is about 500m long and like a narrow lane with loads of markets stalls selling fake bags, clothes, watches etc. We walked round here by day and night and never felt unsafe as there are always loads of people everywhere. You can walk it in 5 minutes.
That's about it. There are taxis always waiting outside the hotel and they're all regulated and pretty cheap. The Langham Place shopping centre is joined directly to the hotel lobby and there is a food court right where you enter if you need your Starbucks fix! There's plenty of shops in here over 14 odd floors but it's Q expensive as was everything we found in HK that wasn't fake. Don't expect to come back laden with electronics and i-Phones. They were all much more expensive than the UK (the cheapest i-phone I saw was approx £500!)
We flew to Hong Kong with Emirates via Dubai and following the two 7 hour flights we transferred to the Langham Place.
We chose this hotel having previously seen it on a TV travel show and we were not disappointed in any way whatsoever. Check in was very smooth and we were given a room on the 18th floor overlooking Kowloon towards Hong Kong island. We stayed on a bed and breakfast option and the breakfast buffet was first class with many many international and local choices available. Notably the staff were extremely courteous and professional. To be honest the phrase courteous and professional sums up this wonderful hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody visiting the bustling brilliant city of Hong Kong.
This place is great. The views from the rooms over the bay are panoramic. The wall facing the view in our room was totally made of glass which looked good. The service and everything about this place is superb. The local area is interesting with local markets and there is a tube station in the mall next door should you want to head over the the island.
A great place to stay when you don't have much time. We arrived at lunchtime on one day and were leaving the following evening en route to Sydney. Loved the location and easy access to the markets. We spent a good couple of hours just exploring the local area. If you want to go further access to the underground is two mins walk.
We stayed in a suite (which I calculated as a good deal before the pound sank without trace!) and had access to the Club lounge. The views from the lounge are magic and it is a delight to chill here when you have checked out your room and have an evening flight. Suite was really good and a really comfy bed.
The roof top pool is also fab and a great place to take pics.
We booked the airport tranfer which was stunningly efficient, even with two large suitcases and two sets of golf clubs) and made the whole experience pretty effortless.
Booked by internet via Expedia while sitting in hotel room in Hanoi, VIetnam. Confirmation was immediate. I was concerned that we would get a less than great room as we did book through Expedia, but not a chance.
Our check in was after midnight and we were welcomed and check was made easy.
Room is excellent, clean and plush to say the least.
My husband is loving the glass walls so he can see the Hong Kong city lights while he is soaking in the tub (okay - no one to offend on the other side of the windows promise).
Toiletries, towels etc are of superior quality.
Staff is so willing to help and the concierge desk are dolls, both the men and women.
English is well spoken and oh yes, in case you didn't know - the hotel is hooked up to some excellent shopping.
Langham Place was quite simply the best hotel I have ever stayed in. From beginning to end this stay was an absolute pleasure. The room, which was on the 38th floor, had a stunning view over the city, and whilst not of the Hong Kong Island, was amazing as it looked over the typically Hong Kong Tower Blocks of Kowloon and beyond. The room was well presented and quite spacious, very modern with every thing you could need. The hotel facilities were fantastic, including a roof top pool again with more great views of the city. The breakfast was delicious, really varied and well worth the price. Every member of staff we came into contact with was polite efficient and very helpful. The concierge was knowledgable and helpful throughout. I simply cannot recomend this hotel highly enough and it fully deserves it's top spot on this list. Compared with the prices of some Hong Kong hotels further down the top 10, this hotel is an absolute steal.
Do not be put off by the fact that this hotel is in Mongkok and not straight on the harbour front. This makes the experience all the better as you actually see more of what the real Hong Kong is all about. It is a bustling and lively area with various markets round about. The concierge runs a tour of the local area that lasts about 45 mins each night. It's free so don't miss it. There is a metro station nearby and can be reached within 2 minutes of leaving the hotel, either by weaving through the floors of the adjacent shopping mall (look out for the huge escalator - I've never seen anything like it) or by walking out of the front door and going round the corner.
Whilst we were there the hotel was pretty full due to Typhoon Nuri, as many flights in and out of Hong Kong were cancelled. However the hotel never seemed crowded.
We arrived at the hotel by shuttle car that we organised from the hotel's desk in the arrivals hall at the airport. It was pretty reasonable and almost as cheap as local taxis.
Check in was quick and efficient. The rooms are pretty small compared to some i've stayed in but it's more than big enough for 2. The room was modern, spotlessly clean and had a fantastic view from the huge window. The window seat is also a great idea so you can admire the view easily, although if you have fear of heights, perhaps this would be best avoided.
The bathroom was of a reasonable size and the shower was fantastic. The toiletries were good quality and plentiful.
Breakfast was great with a good slection of Western and Asian dishes. We ate in the hotel a couple of nights due to there being nothing else open in the typhoon. The Chinese restaurant was good quality and the service good. The buffet was also very plentiful, with 2 or 3 cooking stations.
The bar was sleek and modern and served good snacks. We felt it was reasonably priced too.
The pool was fantastic. Looking down on the city from 43 floors up whilst lounging by the pool was great. The attendants were good and towels were plentiful. Although we didn't use the gym, the facilities certainly looked extensive. Also didn't use the spa.
Checking out was also very quick and efficient.
This hotel is great and deserves it's high position in Tripadvisor's list.
This property hits the sweet spot. Its combination of superb service, fine amenities and great location makes this a top choice in Hong Kong.
The staff were courteous and helpful. They appeared to be genuinely interested in their jobs and would act without hesitation to be of assistance.
We found the location to be ideal. It’s in the true heart of Hong Kong. If you want a feel for how the locals live, this position is perfect. It is surrounded by busy local markets, great eating places and many small vendors.
It is conveniently located on a train line and near buses that will quickly take you to the more tourist orientated spots. If you prefer to be in the middle of the tourist spots this property may not be for you.
The Hotel itself has a classic modern feel. The rooms are comfortable and have views over Kowloon and the peninsula. The higher the room, the better the view. The rooftop pool also affords great views over the entire peninsula and the gym is excellent if you want to work out.
We had Club L lounge access and found it to be one the best of its types. It offers high quality food and drinks and the staff were always available to help and offer the odd travel tip. Is it worth the extra cost? Yes as long as you use it!
Overall, this would be one of my favourite hotels and well worth the experience.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO THE STAFF OF THE LANGHAM PLACE MONGKOK (LPM). You made this our best hotel stay ever. Everyone –from Pink in reservations, to the three or four different consierges we spoke to, to the room staff, to the checkout receptionist- was over the top. LPM did not only meet expectations; but, it exceeded those big time.
In addition to the above, the results from this LPM experience can be described as moving. Thank you to the designer of the rooms and the staff for the common sense, versatility, and kindness in everything and in the service.
Also, thank you to everyone who wrote in Tripadvisor and/or posted videos in YouTube. That information enabled us to maximize our experience. Again, LPM did not only meet expectations; but, it exceeded those big time.
From 39,000ft above the Pacific Ocean, at -77F or -61C, and at 1081km/hr or 672mi/hr, THANK YOU VERY MUCH LPM.
We stayed 4 nights in a Club room over the Xmas period. The rooms are small but well appointed. The club lounge was worth paying the money for and the staff were so very helpful.
Booked Langham Place after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not dissapointed. We took a club room and while it costs a wee bit more, I reckon its good value. We ate breakfast every morning in The Place and they offer a good variety which should cover all tastes. We ate a hearty breakfast which kept us going until evening and its included in the room price. Club privilages also includes wireless internet access and use of the spa and rooftop pool. Laying in the hot tub looking out over the Hon Kong skyline is brill. Club L access gives you breakfast, afternoon tea, light snacks, soft drinks and some of the hard stuff between 6 and 8, so I think upgrading to club actually saves money
The staff are very professional and helpful without being over intrusive. The Mong Kok MTR station is a couple of hundred yards away the otherside of the mall which makes getting around very easy.
I would recommend Langham Place to anyone and we will definately be back next time in Honkers.
Langham Place super 5* hotel in the hub of Mongkok . Langham Place customer service was excellent. We up graded our room so it was nice and big with fab views of the city. We ate at the hotels Chinese restaurant a couple of times, which was also excellent. We stayed at 3 hotels whilst we were in Hong Kong over Christmas and New Year that were all very good. We liked the Luxe Manor best because it was so quirky and different, with the added value of free bottled water and Internet access (worse breakfast though). My only bug bear which I notice a few people have mentioned was the Langham Place was what I would call a typical 5* business hotel any thing extra how ever basic like water, internet access you had to pay extra for, I do think in this day and age internet should be in the price you pay at the start as it is a basic necessity for most people these days. However saying that Langham Place offered good value for money over all.
Langham Place Hotel is highly recommended. The only downside is the distance from Star Ferries, however it is well located in Nathan Road (Above an underground Station) - Excellent for shopping both in Malls and markets - some tourist some local.
If possible stay in the "Executive levells" Free drinks and snaks
as well as all the services tourists and business persons need. Having stayed in many hotels around the world my wife and I rate
the Langham Place (there is another Langham in Nathan Rd. - Good but older )as our favorite. Impossible to fault. Staff, rooms, service, meals etc we found to be well above average even other so called 5 Star Hotels, Search deals on the Langham web-site
Check in was quick and efficient and staff were proffessional, we were on the 21st floor and although the lifts were very quick (some with views of outside on the higher floors) they did take a very long time to become available.
Our room was quite small especially in comparision to other 4/5 star hotels we had stayed in, in Hong Kong but it was well furnished and bright.
The room was very modern with a large flat screen TV, DVD player and lots of techy stuff. There was a good selection of coffee and tea ect and I particulary liked the coffee maker and ground coffee.
The bathroom again small was very bright and very modern, with all the amenities required.
The bed was sooo comfortable and housekeeping was excellent.
The location was fantastic for us right in the middle of Mong Kok and within easy walking of the markets, restuaurants, MTR, taxi's and bus stops.
The only thing which was dissapointing was check out at the hotel, due to flying back to the UK with Air New Zeland we had to leave the hotel around 5am so there were not many staff around. When checked out and the lady of reception was really not interested, she didn't asked if we had enjoyed our stay, we were offered no help with taking our bags to ground level or organising a taxi.
This is the only place I feel that the hotel lacks, there is no personal touch at all, the staff do what they have to do but do not go beyond this to make your stay a friendly one.
Langham was the first stop on a mont long trip for us and we loved it! After reading reviews on this site we went ahead and booked it and were not dissappointed. Although not on the main hong kong island there are plenty of shop and restaurants in the area - the shopping mall that is literally attached to the hotel is great to have on the door step.
The staff are friendly, rooms clean and very comfortable and the swimming pool and gym on the top floor are fantastic.
I stayed at Langham Mongkok with my family for 5 nights in December. The hotel staff are, like other 5-star hotels in HK, very efficient, polite and professional at the front desk, room service and housekeeping. The hotel decor is modern, though the bathroom is a bit small. Everything is very clean and tidy. The location is fantastic. Right in Mongkok. The only thing I wish they would improve is the security - anyone is allowed to enter the lifts at the ground level to the guest room floors without identification. The only time that you need to insert your doorcard into a slot in the lift is past 11pm. There is no security personnel at the street level lift lobby and the front desk for check-in and check-out is on the 4th floor. But HK is generally a safe place, so I didn't let this bother me much.
We stayed here for three nights from 14-16 December 08 and just loved it. Much as I love living and travelling in Europe it was a nice change and a real joy to go to Asia and experience a service oriented culture again!
The room was superb. The only thing to fault it, and this is being picky I admit but the bathroom had a large window into the bedroom. Now this was kind of cool for sitting back in the bath and being able to watch TV through the window into the bedroom but although it had a venetian blind which offered some privacy, for middle of the night trips to the bathroom the light still spilled into the bedroom disturbing the other occupants.
It was super easy to get around using the metro from here and we bought a three day metro pass that was combined with an airport train ticket.
From our first enquiry email to the moment we checked out of the property, the Langham Place Hotel was an absolute pleasure to deal with. We loved the great location, attached to the shopping mall and to the MTR station, yet in the middle of the real Hong Kong once you step outside. The ladies markets and some great electronics stores at your doorstep.
We travelled with our 2 children. We stayed 5 nights in a quad room, which was still spacious even though it had both a queen and a king size bed in it. Lovely rain shower and nice clean bathroom, plenty of amenities. The service was great, we arrived at 1.30pm, our room was not ready until 3pm but they offered us a free drink in the bar in the meantime. Breakfast was included in our room rate and this was an unbelievable spread of great quality food. The service was always friendly and courteous. Also loved the branding, every bit of stationery has this quirky logo on it, you'll see it when you get there. We would definitely stay here again when back in Hong Kong.
The hotel rooms are very nicely decorated and it feels very warm and homely.
There are 2 bottles of complimentary water available in the room and the bathrooms are equipped with a glass screen from the shower allowing you to watch tv at the same time!
The tv is a flat screen and a dvd player is available as well! You are able to borrow dvds at the hotel library. Free internet is available at the business centre.
The hotel is attached to a mall which over the years have added many new stores! The location is great with food stalls all around, with ladies market and Nathan Rd just a walk away. The MTR is just a few mins walk away as well!
Behind the hotel is a fresh fruit and vege market!
The gym facilities are very well equipped! You can be on the threadmill and overlook the city while exercising! This is the only hotel which has this view from the gym! There is also a sauna! They promote their own toiletries through their relaxation services such as massages.
A great hotel to stay in HK if you are willing to splurge a bit!
All the employees where helpful and friendly. The room lived up to expecations and was great value for the high quality. A little problem with the internet connection was soon fixed. Excellent room service. My short stay concluded with the duty manager escorting me personally to my taxi. Could not have asked for better treatment.
The location is great, close to the MTR or a short taxi ride to get to Hong Kong island. The local area has a great HK asmosphere with street markets, regular shopping, and an upmarket shopping mall with cinemas and restaurants.
Just a short taxi ride from Kowloon Station. All my expectations where met if not exceeded, and would recommend without hestitation for a stopover in HK and I am sure would work well for a longer stay.

Some distance away from tourist areas but underground convienient.
Hotel was outstanding! Service, facility, location all top notch for a reasonable price.
Overall a good stay, would recommend and go back.
The room decor is modern. The hotel is connected to Langham Place Shopping mall and Mongkok station.
The Hong Kong style cafe behind the hotel has good food.
All in all very pleased with the hotel
Attention to detail excellent. Location excellent... Service excellent. rooms excellent.....staff excellent.. cannot go wrong with this hotellll.
Spa first rate but expensive .
Staff, rooms, service, meals etc we found to be well above average even other so called 5 Star Hotels, Search deals on the Langham web-site
for the best rates.
But HK is generally a safe place, so I didn't let this bother me much.
fantastic location! (Mongkok)
the bathrooms were excellent and the cleanliness immaculate!
one of the best I've stayed at in Hong Kong
