After a 8 hour train ride from Taipei, the Hotel Kindness was a sight for sore eyes! The exterior and interior of the hotel are very clean and attractive and the staff was very friendly. For NT$2000 , our room included a "midnight" dinner (2200-0000) with fresh fruit, coffees, teas, noodle bowls and ice cream, and a breakfast in the morning. The guest room was very clean and full of little details that were very pleasing. There is a business center with free internet and a game room with air hockey and free pushbutton espresso machines in various locations in the hotel. If your travels bring you to Taitung, I definitely recommend the Hotel Kindness!
I simply must write this review so that others may benefit from it as I have in reading reviews from others on this hotel.
Hotel Kindness (Lanhwa), Kaohsiung, is definitely a must-stay-at hotel. My family and I stayed here on 15 and 21 November and it is such a wonderful and homely hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, although most of them could speak only a limited spattering of English.
The room, and we had a big room for NT$2,000, was spacious and clean. Too bad a slight tinge of smoking smell remained. But after a while, the smell "disappeared". The bathroom was very clean and new.
Internet service was available and free, both wireless and connected (bring your own cable). There are 4 computers with internet available in the lobby and business centre and they are all free. A washer/dryer is also available for guests' use free of charge. Only drawback is that it takes 2-3 hours for one cycle, meaning if someone else is using it, the wait can be long. Washing powder is also complimentary.
Drinks (coffee, tea, chinese tea) are complimentary and limitless.
Definitely a great place to stay!
