Hotel is about 3 years old and in excellent condition. The bed is super comfortable, and on a par with the W hotel bed, with designer sheets from Pierre Balmain. Large flat panel LCD TV is of a very high quality, where there is no "blurring" of movements. Room is equiped with a workstation including HP inkjet printer, scanner, fax, and instant on, no fuss high speed wireless internet, as well as an always on hot water heater/dispenser. Large marble bath fitted with high end plumbing fixtures. The gym/spa is also very nicely equipped and maintained. The major issue with this hotel is that it is sort of in the boondocks,.. far away from the city center and any action, making taking a taxi to get anyplace a must.
This was my third visit to the hotel, last year I gave it only above average, this year there was no doubt it was excellent.
To anybody staying in Taichung this is the place, staff excellent, food excellent and rooms outstanding.
The best hotel in Taichung. Right at the moment you step into the hotel, you will feel the "Windsor touch" starting with the bellman.
Every bellman has a pleasant smile and will automatically offer to carry your luggage for you and guide you to the reception.
The receptionists are extremely pleasant and provide impeccable service. Also, the smile on their face makes the difference.
Guest rooms are spacious and appointed in neutral tones. Furthermore, each room have breathtaking views of Taichung's skyline. I would strong recommend a guest room overlooking Taichung city (Chungkang Road).
The room is also equipped with top notch amenities. You name it.
If you love taking a shower, you will be pleased with their bathrooms. The bathroom is appointed with fine marble. The shower stalls feature a rainforest shower. Moreover, there is a window in the room which offers stunning views.
Housekeeping staff are very attentive and respond to customers' needs.
The state of the art ALFA Health Club on the 7th floor of the hotel is a "must go". The only hotel in Taichung which have an open air spa with panoramic views of Taichung. Other facilities include indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, fitness center, etc.
I have stayed at this property more than 10 times and the Windsor will continue to be my first choice when I visit Taichung.
Stayed for 5 days for business and thought the hotel was fantastic. They have literally thought of everything from Flat screens in the bathroom to watch while soaking in the tub, to slide out panels on the nightstand to double the space. The staff were fantastic and mostly fluent in English. I would have to say it was the best Chinese business hotel I have ever been to.
I was there last Sept with my sister's family. It is a new hotel. My experience there was so comfortable and great. Everything was kept as the best condition. They provide fax machine and printer in my room.
The carpet is clean and we don't need to worry about that if kids lying or crawling on the floor.
There were fresh fruits.
As we stayed one night, we can have one breakfast for free. The breakfast was excellent and there were various, delicious foods.
I recommand you this hotel for a great stay.
We stayed at the almost brand new Windsor Hotel during our visit 1 weekend in July. The comfort of the room and level of services we received was excellent. The room was a good size with flat screen TV, heavenly bed and high end bathroom facility. Got a view of the city. All the staff we encountered was very friendly, except a couple of them at the breakfast buffet. I'm surprised that I can't find this hotel on the website (maybe it's too new), but I'd like to post a review here to recommend the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone anytime.
