Needed a hotel for one night close to the Train Station. The Enterprise hotel can be a little bit difficult to find, but once checked-in the rooms offered a very pleasant surprise. Despite the building looking old from the outside, the rooms were quite modern, clean and comfortable. The only complaint I would have is that the bathroom was dark and very basic, a stark contrast to the room; but at least it was clean.
To Train Station is accessible by a underground walkway next to the Baseball Batting range. There is also a small shopping centre nearby with a food court. The breakfast at the hotel was basic and edible, but not appetizing. I'd give it a skip unless you don't mind bland food.
The staff were also very friendly and helpful with directions - but very limited English. If you are patient, you will eventually get the information you want though.
Great hotel and great services. The staff at the front desk guided us with very useful information and even help us to book for local day tour organise by the Taiwan Go Bus.
The room is great and super spacious. We are given a 2 x Queen size bed with a 4 seater table. Unfortunately, improvement needed on the bath room where the drainage system is not organise well.
The Enterprise Hotel and The TwinStar Hotel (located just blocks away from The Enterprise Hotel) actually belongs to a same hotel management group. It is located within walking distances from the Taichung Rear Railway Station, slightly further than the Zaw Jung Hotel. The Taichung Central Shopping Mall, Taichung's biggest shopping mall, is located just beside the hotel. A Carrefour hypermart is located within the mall. Other than this, there's nothing much around the area and you would have to use the underpass to get to the area around the Front Railway Station, where the main shopping districts are located. According to their website, the hotel had been awarded the First of "Excellent Hotel Award" by the City Government of Taichung. Once you stepped into the hotel, you will understand why they won the award. Every time I entered the lobby, 2-3 of their staffs would bow and greet me! One of the staff would station at the lift and press the lift for you. The hotel also has a computer with free internet access located at the lobby. The receptionist would also give you a map of the area for your convenience. As for the room, it's very spacious, clean and equipped with water cooler and a LCD TV! They have complementary toiletries and tea/coffee. For the budget price I paid and the 5 Stars services i received, this hotel is highly recommended for all travelers.
