I stayed here for one night. We came in late, had a good buffet dinner in a large dinning hall with a lot of people. The second morning, when we got up and took a walk, we saw this beautiful beautiful view around this hotel. I also found one of the largest swimming pools of hotel. It is very close to Tai Lu Ge canyon, about 10 minut drive to the city center of Hua Lien. The rooms are clean and spacious. I would like to go back again and stay there for several days and explore the vicinities without a hurry next time. This hotel is around $110, which is not bad for its quality.

I am giving this hotel 4 stars instead of 3 stars because of the facilities. Room-wise the decor is rather sparse but big and can comfortably fit 3 persons and 3 seprate beds. Carpet can do with a cleaning. Bathroom is clean and functional. As mentioned by the previous reviewer, the hotel boasts of both an outdoor ( non-heated) as well as heated indoor pool with Jacuzzi. The heated pool is a good size for lap swimming and the heated Jacuzzi with various pressure jets are goood for destressing those tired muscles. What that is lacking now is just warm spring water! The public locker/bathroom looks like it has just been renovated and appears clean and new. Shower foam and shampoo is provided in the shower stalls. Breakfast was good with a rather large spread of food catering to various palettes.

I had big expectations for this place, but am disappointed. If you're traveling with your family it's probably great. If you come here alone, you're better off staying in another, newer, classier Hualien hotel. The bar here is a joke and no one uses it. The restaurant staff ranges from indifferent to rude and hostile. The restaurant food is mediocre and way, *way* overpriced. I wish I hadn't booked three nights here! I don't recommend it.

My wife, 2-year-old daughter, and I stayed here for 2 days / 1 night as a part of our extended family's Eastern Taiwan tour.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, with a gigantic lobby and dining area on the first floor, and convention facilities on the second floor. The clerks at the front counter were friendly and spoke good English. We had a larger, 2-Queen bed room, and were not disappointed. Our view of the mountains was amazing. Everything - furniture, beds, bathroom, linens - was clean. The rooms have free internet access but you must bring your own LAN cable to connect.

The selection of the buffets (we ate dinner and breakfast there) is absolutely fantastic - one probably needs at least 3 or 4 trips to sample everything that is out there - and is of excellent quality and taste.

If Hualien is not fun enough, the hotel has both indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a two-level recreation center complete with a cafe, two racquetball courts, a child's play area, ping-pong tables, treadmills, and a nautilus machine. The landscaping around the outdoor swimming pool is really beautiful as well.

This hotel was an amazing value for us (no more than 3000 NT for the stay and the two meals) and we would love to come here over and over again.
