My wife and I stayed here for four nights during a Far East tour.

Staff were superb, very courteous, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Food in the restaurant was superb.

The hotel is ideally located near the SMRT subway in Little India.

Well worth a return visit.

We booked this after our star cruise and wanted to be near little india. On arrival the doormen was rude so we got a bit upset. Mentioned it to the checkin lass called Sharmilah and she immediately went out of her way to make sure were ok. Lovely rooms and toast box accross the road was good for breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and will always stay here in future.

Stayed one night whilst in transit on the way to Australia. We were late arriving as our flight was delayed but the restaurant was still open. However 2 cheese sandwiches and 2 coffees were rather expensive.

Room was sufficient for our brief stay but bed was very hard.

Hotel appeared clean and staff were friendly, shame that the same could not be said about some of the other guests.

Opposite the hotel is a brand new shopping centre filled with places to eat and shop, so dont eat at the expensive hotel restaurant.

Stayed at this hotel from 9th Dec for 2 nights. It's in a great location if you want to be near Little India and Indian food. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were efficient. I got there around 9am in the morning and was told that my room wouldn't be ready until 11:30am. But in the meantime I could use there luggage storage facility and I could use the shower in the gym. Well, let me tell you that the shower was awesome. There was soap, shampoo, towels and a hair dryer. I was very happy to use the facilities and then go and have some breakfast before returning for check-in.

There was an MRT (Ferrer Park) entrance and a brand new mall across the road. You could catch a bus stop for bus to Orchard Rd about 5 min walk away.

Also very convinient was the 24 hour shopping in Mustafa Centre which is right behind the hotel. Within a few mins walk were Komala Vilas and Anand Bhavan - veg restaurants.

There clientel at the hotel mainly appeared to be Indians.

The room itself was a good size for a single person or a couple. In fact I believe it was on the large side for Singapore hotel rooms.

The area surronding the hotel always felt safe even late at night.

I give this one a thumb up!

I happened to stay for the first time in Parkroyal hotel in Singapoire and I should say that they provided an excellent customer service to me. No matter what time of the day or night it was, their attendant was outside my room within 5 minutes of my phone call if I did need something from them.

Their food, especially the moring breakfast included so much variety that I really felt as though I was in India and having home made breakfast. the taste was so delicious that I don't have words to express the same.

Everytime I went around in the hotel, whether its the reception, lobyy, etc. it was quite cool and enjoying.

I should say that this hotle deserves to be one of the best hotles in singapore.

It was a wonderful stay and I will I could have stayed more nights. The hotel is located just beside the Mustafa Center, a 24 hour bargain mall and also a newly opened mall, City Square. My booking did not include breakfast but a very nice restaurant "TOAST BOX" offering breakfast treats starting at S$3 is just in front at the City Square mall. When we arrived we were greeted by the Front desk person who is not smiling but I think this is Singapore culture. She asked for our preference of a smoking or non-smoking room and we said non smoking with 3 beds as said in our booking.

We were given a room in the eight floor and as we entered the room, we were surprised that the smell seems that someone just smoked in it and there was just one king size bed! It was a shock so I called front desk and I asked for a change in room which they obliged thankfully.

I was given a room at the 9th floor easily and luckily it was a room I requested. During the course of my stay I just had a problem with the air-conditioning unit since the coldness started to deteriorate but I never bothered since I was leaving the next day.

All in all it was a great stay!

We loved this hotel. We were with both sets of our parents (in their 70s) and our 2 boys (7 and 9) for 5 nights and everyone agreed it was a great stay. The rooms were a good size and one child could stay for free in each room (we bought a couple of AU$20 mattresses from Mustafas next door as the hotel charge for a foldabed was ridiculous). The kids liked the pool and it was a nice place to relax for us all after a hard days shopping. The staff were efficient but not very friendly (our comparison is that we had just come from Phuket where everyone smiles). The MRT was close by and a good cheap way to get around. Mustafas is well worth a look and there is also a new shopping mall over the road. We will definitely stay here again for our next Singapore stay.

my date of stay was in Aug 2009.... Well to start with i had a bad experience with the staff at the reception on the day i landed. The staff at the reception was not even hospitable enough. Due to some technical faults my credit was not functional at that moment though i had made reservations prior my departure from my home country through my agent from his credit card who was willing to pay my travel but the hotel staff was not listening to me and finally when my card worked they charged me. I had only one source for shopping that was my credit card and my limit was finished on the same day...i stayed there for three days and only the last day i got my payments cleared through my agent and then i could shop... but lost shopping for the first three days and i repent till now... but one thing i think which everybody likes about the hotel is the breakfast.... and i would say it was not the best deal i got..

The hotel room was a good size with comfortable chairs to sit out on plus a small table and a mini bar we used as a fridge. The room was kept very clean and tidy during our stay. The pool on the sixth floor is a good place to relax, free towels and excellent showers. Being placed on Kitchener it is a long way from the centre of Singapore but this is not a problem, the MRT station is a 5 minute walk, clean, air conditioned, easy to use and unbelievabley cheap and it will take you every where. The hotel location is right in little india, great for walking about in and eating out in the evening. For the real thing try the eating place on the corner of Kithener and Verdun, sit with the locals on plastic chairs and tables and enjoy a real curry. Shopping opportunities are excellent as the hotel backs onto Mustafas shopping complex, open 24 hours and worth a visit just for the experience. A modern complex has just opened in front of the Parkroyal with a supermarket, loads of places to eat and boutique shops. An excellent hotel with helpful efficient staff.

Located in Little India it was our first stay in this area and I would recommend it. It has a very different feel than Orchard Road or Marina Bay areas but it does have a warm and interesting vibe.

You must visit Mustafa’s just around the corner open 24hrs and full of all sorts of interesting things some junky but worth a visit. Also eat in a local Indian Restaurant the one we found was amazing and very cheap opposite Mustafa’s.

Parkroyal was great value, the room was musty and outdated but for the price I am not complaining $130 AU including rollaway and breakfast, excellent.

Pool area is nice and enough to cool off after a day of sightseeing and shopping.

My 5th trip to Singapore and I wanted to stay somewhere a little different from my previous trips (when I stayed at either Sentosa or on/near Orchard Rd). The Parkroyal on Kitchener Rd is in the heart of Little india and the hustle and bustle is a wonderful contrast to your at-times sterile Singapore. We were fortunate to be there during Deepavali celebrations and all of the streets were wonderfully lit up, a real sense of celebration.

I understand the hotel has been recently refurbished - it looks great. Rooms are on the small size but well equipped (LCD TV, wireless internet etc). We got a Club Room on the Orchid Floor which among other 'benefits' entitiles you to hors douvres and cocktails/wine/beer in the Club Room from 60.0 to 7.30pm each evening. We didn't really make the most of this as we were typically away from the hotel at that time, however on the couple of occasions we did partake we noticed that the service was well-frequented.

Breakfast buffet was excellent -although coffee from the machine was insipid (but I have never had a decent coffee in Asia yet!) and there was not a good selection of fresh fruit, surprisingly.

Pool area and gym were good, although a small complaint was that there were only 6 sun lounges on the deck - not enough by far!

Service all round was excellent, from the baggage boys to the concierge. Check-in service at the Orchid Lounge was efficient.

All in all, well worth checking out. Good value rooms and great location. The Farrer Park MRT is 100m away and of course public transport in Singapore is second-to-none so once you are on the MRT you can get almost anywhere on the island quickly.

We stayed 4 nights in this Hotel and although the surrounding area was very busy outside the Hotel itself was good - clean and although we only had Breakfast the food was also good. The biggest advantage was it was situated 2 mins from the Underground which obviously could take you anywhere !!! Remember and cash in your ticket on the underground for a $1 return as this is an excellent idea to save litter.

Stayed at the Parkroyal - Kitchener Road for a couple of nights in September on our way back to the UK. Considering that the majority of clients are in transit and are only there for a short stay, the attitude of the staff is to be commended. They treat all the guests with a very pleasant and friendly attitude. We had a midnight flight out of Changi and so extended our room stay until 6.00pm with no problem. We had an excellent last meal in the Spice Brasserie before leaving for the airport. The hotel is a two minute stroll to Little India. Just around the corner from the hotel in Verdun Street is a great India/Nepalese restaurant.

I stayed in this hotel on 2 Sep 09 (room 1229) and 9-11 Sep 09 (room 920) when transiting through Singapore. Overall, I thought it was good value for money (S$140 per night).

The hotel is located S$25 from the airport by taxi. The nearby MRT can be taken to the airport but you need to swap trains twice so may not be suitable if you have heavy luggage.

The rooms met my expectations i.e. were clean and well appointed. The only issue I had was that the second room I used (920) was located near the lifts and was very noisy. Other guests wandering the corridors woke me both nights between 3-4 AM. Also the walls of this room seemed thin as I could hear everything occurring in the room next door.

The hotel has an excellent outdoor pool area and fitness room. It also has a cozy bar with excellent staff. I only used the dining facilities once, but was impressed by the buffet dinner. I understand that the breakfast buffet was also impressive but perhaps not value for money.

This is a busy hotel and the foyer can be hectic at times. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely consider returning.

Arrived in the hotel after a long flight from London. We checked in and were desparate to get some sleep. There was a problem with breakfast booking even though I had written confirmation. The room intially given to us had a terrible smell and requested a room change this was given but took an hour to sort out. We were then disturbed several times apologising for the room and breakfast error. The hotel is in the heart of Little India which a good place to shop and eat South Indian food. I used the Gym every day and the breakfast was great with so much choice. Travelling wise there are cabs but we preferred to use the MRT which is close by and cheap. The staff of the hotel were friendly and informative. Internet is very expensive in the hotel so my advice is to go to one of the local internet places which are very cheap $1 for 30 mins.

On Sundays in the afternoon till late you will see lots of South Indian men on the streets as this is their day off and they hang around the area. It is overwhelming to see so many men. There was no trouble but it is a sight. Singpore is very clean you do not see the police patrolling as there is very little crime. China Town was great to shop and to eat especially fresh fruit.

As the £ (Pound) was weak things did seem expensive in the major branded stores in Oxford Road.

We took the City tour to get our bearings then we used the public transport to the places we liked. Singaporean people are friendly and speak perfect English

Next to the hotel is the 24 hour Mustafa mall again something unusual to see. I did not try it out at 3am. This also has a money exchange facility with no commission.

The Park Royal is an excellent hotel for Indian Travellers bcos:

1. MRT train station is 2 mins walk

2. Mustafa shopping center is 1 min away

3. Bugis shopping area is 10 mins walk

4. Bus stop is 2 mins away

5. 50+ eating outlets offering idli vada, to tandoor platter to western cuisine, all priced from 3$ to 15$

Apart from these, the Hotel Decor was very elegant and contemporary and we loved the interior designs. The bathroom toiletries are sad, better to take your own shampoos, moisturizers etc

Front desk was excellent, we had requested for quiet room in the highest floor possible and it was all ready when we arrived. It was a very pleasing experience.

Bell desk too good, we checked out at 12 noon, left the baggage with the bell and went shopping till 5, came back and picked them. It saved us unwanted hotel bill just to keep our luggages.

Excellent hotel for travelers and tourist and in particular South Indians!

Parkroyal on Kitchener Road is nice, clean and quite well located. We stayed in their family room which was roomy and comfortable. It had two bedrooms separated by a (thin) door. This allowed us adults to chat, whatch tv etc. late in the evening without disturbing our kids' sleep. Both rooms had a tv and one of them a fridge and coffee-making facilities.

Check-in service was a bit of a disappointment. We had booked a package which included some special discounts in restaurants and the hotel spa. But when I asked about it, the person handling our check-in didn't know anything about this and wasn't very helpful. It took a lot of time and our confirmation e-mail to settle things out. Otherwise the service in the hotel was ok.

Breakfast is great, both us adults and the kids really enjoyed it. It seems that the breakfast restaurant can be *very* full on weekends, though. My daughter also said she spotted a cockroach. This wouldn't suprise me. Even though everything seemed very clean and hygienic, I've seen occasional roaches in all kinds of Asian hotels. I guess it's impossible to avoid them completely.

Room prices in Parkroyal are quite expensive, especially with breakfast. In most countires, I wouldn't pay their price for a hotel of their level. But I guess the prices are normal in Singapore, where everything seems to be very expensive.

We stayed at the Parkroyal for three nights as the final leg of our honeymoon. Staff throughout our stay there were very courteous and helpful. Our room was very decent with a king sized bed and reasonable 'leg room'. It was cleaned every day to a good standard.

Our stay there included breakfast which was a superb mix of European, North American and Asian cuisine - excellent!

The lobby bar was a little expensive outside 'Happy Hour'. We recommend a local bar just to the right of the hotel entrance which is far less luxurious but much cheaper and far livelier.

The hotel is located to the north of Little India, a lively, fascinating part of the city. It is quite a distance from the main city sights however. There is an excellent open top bus tour with a stop nearby though. We would recommend the combined ticket that allows access on the City and Heritage routes as well as a delightful river cruise.

Singapore is beautiful, spotless, vibrant yet peaceful. A fantastic way to end our honeymoon.

Everyone travels to Singapore for a different reason, so I'll keep this short. Singapore is not a city where you often find good hotel deals.

The Good:

- Well priced

- Great location (if you like Little India)

- Seconds from the MRT

- Rooms spacious, but not very well upgraded

- Great walk around vicinity of hotel

- The pool is awesome- so awesome, worth the stay alone in hot, hot singapore.

The Bad:

- Not as nice as you might be used to in the $100 range elsewhere in the world.

- Staff were not very responsive. Had to call three times to get mini bar unlocked.

- Location can be noisy, and lots of families and kids running around.

- Charge for WIFI. Ridiculous. Like $10 an hour, $25 a day. What is this, 1999?

- Bed are horribly stiff.

Other than that, I would consider staying here again, depending on who I was with.

We stayed in early August for 3 nights on the way home from a 7 week round the world trip. The hotel staff are very efficient and friendly, especially one of the maids who always greeted us with a huge GOOD MORNING. She was lovely. The guys at the front steps were great in ordering taxis and lugging bags. They always approached us to ask if we needed help, not like most other hotels where you have to hunt someone down. The location just 3 mins walk from Farrer Park Station was great. The Mustafa Centre was just a 3 min walk away also - great for shopping up large where the locals go. The hotel was very clean, the room was spacious and had a mini bar and a jug for a cup of tea and the aircon was good. The only very minor gripe was that I am sure we asked for a non smoking room and whenever we got out of the lift and into our room there was a smokey smell but it went away after a few minutes so not worth complaining about. A tip for Singapore is choose a great hotel super close to a Metro station and you cant go wrong as they are so clean and frequent and cheap. Even though this hotel wasnt in the bustling Orchard Road shopping district it was fine because it was quieter. Ask for a room above the 13th floor though as the windows arent double glazed. Excellent stay. Would stay again as was the lowest priced accommodation on our whole world trip!

A wonderful hotel to stay in SIngapore.

Like many others, we stayed here based on positive reviews on TA and we'll add our "thumbs up" with enthusiasm. They have a wonderful location with close access to the MRT (less than 5 minutes walk). The hotel within walking distance to a big 24 hours shopping mall (Mustafa Mall), local food (from indian to chinese food). The rooms is very clean and comfortable, with very helpful, courteous and friendly staffs. The hotel is amazing.

The assistant Front Office manager is amazing as well, and made our journey unforgetable . Many thanks! We really appreciated everything you have done for us.

You can not go wrong by chossing this hotel.

Excellent hotel with excellent price!

We will definitely be back!

The hotel is located in little india with loads of indian food and indian shopping centres such as grocery and indian gold. I would not stay in this hotel or in this area as it is not the best location, however the hotel was stanard nothing special. When arriving singapore it was very nice and posh but arriving in this area did not feel like we was in singapore...I think because we came from Kuala Lumpur we loved it so much and was trying to compare to singapore and as we stayed in Little india which never seem to be the real singapore....... Any ways if you do go singapore do visit night safari which is amazing and do go to Newtons which is a food centre (hawkers) You will find chinease food and belive me the food is excellent and very cheap.

I chose to stay at this hotel for a personal business trip based on fellow traveller reviews and highly attractive last-minute pricing from the hotel's website.

At S$150, my expectations weren't that high, but upon arrival I must say was very pleasantly surprised. First of all, it appears that the hotel was fully renovated in the last 2 years in an attractive modern style. Check-in was fast, friendly and efficient and even better as I was informed of an upgrade to a Deluxe on a high floor!

The room was bright & spacious and decorated in light modern tones and had a small LCD TV in the wall. There was also a work desk/chair and small lounge chair. Bed and pillows were excellent. The view was nice too. My only complaint was that the shower was the stand-in bath type (which I don't particularly like) together with the plastic show curtain.

Breakfast wasn't included so I ended up having breakfast at one of the multitude of eateries outside.

Location was most interesting and convenient in the heart of Little India behind the famous 24-hour Mustafa Department store. The MRT was <5mins walk (Farrer Park). Taxis were also easy to come by.

So all in all, a stay that far exceeded my expectations. I would normally rate this property 4/5 but the amazing value for the quality bumps my rating up to 5/5.

Made a chose for this hotel (were staying there for 10 nights) based on other reviews on this site and was not disappointed by this hotel. The location is not far from ANY tourist destination in Singapore and main shopping centres on Orchard road and electronic department stores like Sim Lin and Funan, very close to Mustafa centre where you can buy allmost everything you want from mobile phone to jerwelry...check its fragrances dept...very good deals and no fakes...also surrounded by colorful and interested indian places..shops, small restaurants where you can east 100% safety for a very reasonable price...10 Singapore dollars for two. Hotel itsels is clean, and looks like a safety place to stay. No problems with check in and check out. So, we are absolutely satisfied with our 10 days staying over there. Pool is OK also for those who want to relax. Staff is friendly and been helpful when I needed to clear some issues on jewelry, shopping and destinations around Singapore. I can reccomend it, if you are looking for a good accomodation in Singapore and I will stay there again if/when I come back to Singapore.

We mainly chose the hotel as it had an MRT station (Farrer Park) just across the road. Little India is nearby and the Mustafa Centre (24 hours shopping!) is just behind the hotel. The MRT provides good transport links to the rest of the island.

Hotel was really nice but our rate didn't include breakfast so we went out of the hotel every morning in search of breakfast. The staff are brilliant and very attentive.

The swimming pool was lovely and they provided towels to use.

During my stay for a period of stay for 6 nights.

I would say it was value for money. The buffet breakfast was awesome, being a vegeterian - there was always something new for me everyday.

Hotel is strategically located, so nearby place Litte India was a few blocks away.

And to shoot off for Sentosa Island, the nearest MRT station FERRER Park is also just 3 blocks away.

The hotel staff were exceptionally courteous and freindly.

I would recommend this hotel to any one coming to singapore.

Great location in Little India just a minute's walk from Farrer Park MRT station. Ideal base to explore all of Singapore. Pool area was lovely and if you are a keep fit fanatic the gym looked 1st class. Plus Mustafa's department store is at rear of hotel. 24 hr shopping-excellent! Try and visit Fort Canning Park and the Botanic Gardens which are an oasis in the city. Night safari was brilliant too. Sentosa was good but there is a lot of construction work going on. All the restaurants we went to were great and were told all were safe to eat in as they are regularly inspected. Alcohol is very expensive though.

Our company organised a sales conference at The Park Royal Hotel situated in the central business district of Singapore.

The hotel is located a few minutes away from the city's MRT train station thus providing easy access to all parts of Singapore. It has 500 & odd spacious/luxurious rooms. It can hold conference for ten to five hundred guests at one time.

The hotel has two restaurants which serve you both local & international cuisine Besides having a well stocked bar where you can unwind after a hard day.

The staff is courtious & efficient. The hotel has a fully eqipped Gym & a landscaped pool. The hotel really gives you value for money.

I stayed at the hotel again when I went with the family. Irecommend it to all travellers who would like a comfortable stay in Singapore.

In all my trips to Singapore, I have made it a point to stay at Parkroyal at Kitchener road, if available. This place is the best you can get, if you like to stay in and around Little India. The staff is excellent, right from the reception to the housekeeping, I think they are well groomed, very customer friendly and responsive. I have had certain bad experiences in other hotels in Singapore, as far as customer responsiveness and courteous behaviour is concerned, but here at Park Royal, it was always the same good stuff. The lobby, rooms, corridors are well maintained. The rooms are spacious and maintenance perfect. I never had food at parkroyal, as was always out from early morning to late evenings, hence cannot comment on food quality. I would recommend this place to all business travellers, who want to stay near farrer park MRT,

Situated adjacent to the road which has a number of Indian places, this is one place in Singapore where i immediately felt like home.

The hotel is elegant and modern. And the service is fast. They immediately handed over my room keys in flat three minues. As you head for the lifts to go to your room, you can make out everything is structured and systematic in this hotel. Just like the entire singapore. You dont find employees of the hotel strolling around just to greet you with a smile and offer you a helping hand.

The rooms are neat and clean. No complains about the bed sheets and towels. The view is good from the 10th floor. A huge number of rooms at the hotel.. but still the room service is fast. i think they are atleat four restaurants. seen atleast two on the ground floor. i only had breakfast at the hotel. but the breakfast was good. very good spread.

The great part of the hotel is that Mustafa the famous mall is backdoor. so you can finish your shopping at one go Its open all night and i rememeber walking into the mall past midnight. a walk on serangoon road and you will see a number of Indian faces and Indian shops. You can also get some good Indian fare there. But stayed away since i have it anyways at home.

The hotel is not situated in the swanky part of Singapore. But if you have a budget constraint then this hotel is a good bet.

I am just returned from 2 week at the Parkroyal in Singapore. The hotel is good.

Food is great, breakfast is a lovely continental, asian & order to egg stuff was add on for the change of taste.

The pool is lovely, not big but luxurious. Separate baby pool is very good for kids.

The Spa is out of this world.

This is a very good hotel and is very close to the Mustafa Market in Singapore which is open 24 hrs so you can just hop in to the market whenever you feel like from here.

Whenever we went out we couldn't wait to get back to the peace and tranquility of the hotel.

Overall I would say this is probably the one of the best hotel we have ever stayed in on holiday.! May be not the most convenient if all you want to do a lot of sightseeing, but if you want to mix a little luxury with the odd trip to other places then this is an absolute must.

This hotel is situated in the Little India district of Singapore. After a 12 hour flight driving through the streets of Little India is an eye opener but upon arrival at this hotel we were pleasantly surprised by the large and airy lobby area. Checking in was quite quick and easy and staff very friendly. Our room was on the 6th floor, same floor as the spa, gym and swimming pool area. The room was a nice size and the bathroom beautiful, however the room itself was quite basic. Considering we were on honeymoon I suppose we expected a few extra perks but none really received compared to other hotels we stayed in. All in all we were pleased. The food is lovely - we tried the buffet lunch which had a huge variety of food and staff went beyond their duty in particular a waiter who helped us try some typical singapore dishes. Be prepared to pay a bit more in hotels for food and alcohol - a glass of beer during happy hour was 6GBP. The hotel is very close to the Mustafa Centre which opens 24 hrs a day - a big department store with everything imaginable under one roof. The hotel is also convenient to the rail system however we used taxis which were very cheap to get around in which are available right outside the hotel lobby. When in Singapore it is worth visiting the zoo, chinatown and the Singapore Flyer!!!

Liked - The food and friendliness of staff.

Disliked - no special treatment for honeymooners.
