I stayed here with my fiance in December.It was excellent and amazingly good value - as it was the low season we had a 50% discount off the usual rate.
Our room was cosy and spacious, with a fabulous shower and bath facilities, a flat screen tv, super-fast internet access, comfy sofa and coffee table area, tea and coffee making facilities, a well-stocked fridge and a good view over the rather grim city-scape.
The breakfast was also great - they have a chinese and western style buffet, and the decor is attractive. We also enjoyed a late dinner in the restaurant on one night after returning late from a hike up Huashan. Although the menu was not as extensive as might be the case in a downtown restaurant; we found a really tasty noodle option and an interesting pineapple and rice dish for my vegetarian partner. It also had some great looking desserts.
Staff are very friendly and professional, though it can take some time to communicate your needs if you dont speak any Chinese. The place is spotlessly clean too; and seems to do well with a mix of Western visitors and Chinese business people.
The only drawback is location - it is about 3k from the city centre; which requires a taxi unless you plan on walking a lot during the day. Also, the route from the hotel to the centre is not that interesting. But taxis are easy to come by and very cheap. Though if you want to be right in the centre perhaps the Belltower is ideally located and gets good reports.
W would definately stay here again if we were to return to xian.
We stayed at the Titan Times Hotel for 2 days in November 2008. This hotel opened in August of 2008. It has a large marbled lobby with tall columns and the hotel was at least 20 stories high. Our room was very nice with a "den" separted by glass partition from the "bedroom" area and the bathroom has a large tub and a shower. There were two flat screen TV's, but with only one channel in English (CNN). Internet was free (as is usual in China). The staff came to help us connect our lap top to the internet and was very friendly.
Our package also included free breakfast buffet of eggs, various yogurts, pastries, juices, sausages, dumplings, stir fried noodles, cogee, and hot milk (cow's and soy) etc.
Mr. Andy Zhang and his staff, many of whom spoke English, were very helpful with arranging taxis and transportation for day-long trips to Terra Cotta Soldiers Museum (he set the price with the drivers for us and told us not to pay over certain set amount).
The price was around $85 per day. It is a good bargain for the location and band new condition of the hotel.
We had a room with a king sized bed - clean room - neat bathroom-
2 TV's, room safe - Nice breakfast - Excellent Service. The staff tries very hard. Went for a nice Foot massage right across the street. Even though you are on on the City Wall you need to take a cab to get inside. Very happy all in all with our stay. I would be happy to answer any questions.
What a wonderful hotel. A top notch service with top of the line decor and amenities. Even though the plumbing needs more detailed look over to stop the leaks around the tubs for this brand new hotel, but its superb service and quality of the room easily overshadows the little blemish, and the hotel was willing to upgrade us to a executive suite right away. The breakfast was wonderful, and the hotel is located in the NW of the city, a convenient departure point for the western route for the sightseeing. The check out process could use improvement, and towel rack needs to be placed near the shower area to avoid walking on wet tiles across the large bathroom floor. But, overall, it was a wonderful hotel and will definitely stay here again when we come back to Xi'an next time.
Opened in August, 2008, the Titan Times is an all-suite hotel. We were in residence there two hours before we found the second bathroom. Suites were very large, with two flat screen tv's and comfortable beds. Buffet breakfast was very good.
This is new to the China Spree itinerary and it's a great addition!
