Perfect location right next to the south gate, walking distance to all major sights, except for the big wild goose pagoda and the terracotta army (for which you have to go to the train station), but both of those are not in the main tourist district. Clean and spacious rooms (we stayed in a twin room), clean bathroom, although the drain smelled a bit. Excellent internet access, both via wifi and three public computers for those of us without laptops. Excellent staff with above average english sk
We have really enjoyed Xian and stayed longer at the hostel than we'd planned. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is superb, right next to the city wall at the South gate. We would highly recommend this hostel. Bring Mosi replellent though as there's plenty here.

Excellent! We met some really interesting people just handing out at the front desk and in the lounge, which also has computers available for you. The best way to find it is to locate the south door of the city wall and look for the "Hostels International" sign or "Paulaner Munich" sign. It is right there. It is reasonable close too to the center of the city where you catch the buses to all the famous sites. The staff is helpful for helping you get where you need to go and there are staff w
our door locks seemed a little flimsy and the balcony would have been easy to access from someone who really wanted to get in. however overall, we were quite happy with the hostel.
We arrived in Xi'an to swarms of people at the Xi'an train station.
We had no idea how we were going to find our hostel - luckily someone from Ancient Street hostel was waiting for us holding up a sign when we arrived. lovely suprise!
They guided us onto a public bus and in 30minutes we were at the hostel. Staff were very helpful - got us a really cheap ticket to Guilin on short notice. The room was average - large but not finished well. Lots of holes for mosquitoes to get in and unfortunately i woke with lots of little red bites.. the walls of the bedroom looked a crime scene were previous patrons had squashed mosquitoes on the walls.
The hostel is in a beautiful part of Xi'an right at the South Gate of the Xi'an perimeter wall. Good food is hard to find in Xi'an so was nice to be close to KFC and Macdonalds also.
I liked the staff here but felt the rooms were average - i'm sure you could find better in Xi'an.
