I heard about this hotel opening through suppliers in Wenzhou. In general I've not had a great deal of success with hotels in Wenzhou. The Howard Jonston is new so very clean and the rooms are very nice. I was looking forward to a good western meal as you get from the Howard Johnson in Ningbo but was disappointed that it did not live up to expectations. The hotel is quite isolated from the regular shopping districts. In general if you're looking for a safe quiet hotel then this is the one for you. Unfortunately the price is quite high for a Wenzhou Hotel.

This is a nice hotel, but it is expensive for the area. If you have any doubts about Wenzhou and just want to be in a safe, Western like, hotel without any concerns, then this is the place, but be ready to pay for it. Around $150 a night!!

Hotel was very very nice, but I think next time I will stay somewhere cheaper. The general standard of all hotels in China far surpasses the US, so I would not be worried about staying somewhere else for around $60.

To roundup, good hotel, very expensive, if worried stay here, if not stay somewhere else.

This hotel opened in January 2008, so everything is fairly new. It's a relatively small hotel... Only 5 floors.. about 120 rooms. The rooms are bigger than average, the decor is modern and new, all the rooms have a computer and LCD TV. Bath's are big and clean with separate shower and tub..

I have had trouble finding a comfortable hotel in Wenzhou... I've visited here 4 times and until this trip, the three previous hotels were just not acceptable. I LOVE Chinese food [will eat almost anything], love the people and try to immerse myself in as much of the local culture as possible, but when it comes time to head for the hotel, I must admit that "local" is not what I want.

This hotel is great... It's not as fancy as the Shangri-La [being built next door].. but it's a modern, comfortable, 5-star quality place to stay for a reasonable cost.

Had a few minor problems... The AC was not working properly, but someone came right up and fixed it in about 10 minutes... There was some obvious water damage on the entry way paneling [not too bad].. and I had some noisy neighbors..

Overall experience was a 4.5 out of 5.. This is my new home when I'm in Wenzhou.
