The price was reasonable, if you want to go shopping in Shenzhen, it's very close to Dong Men, where a lot of shopping malls / shops are nearby but I hated the crowd so it's not too suitable for me.

The carpet was a bit dirty even though the room is good, comfy bed etc. The furniture is a bit old.

When we crossed the border from HK into China we were overwhelmed a little at first. I knew there was a shuttle bus but couldnt find it as noone hardly spoke any English. So we decided to get a taxi bite our lip and pay the 200 renminbi.

When we got to the hotel, it was lovely, bell porters etc lovely decor so far so good. The staff though could hardly speak any english. I had to communicate with sign language.

Got to our suites and they were wonderful, little kitchenette, 2 tvs, bathroom, opening window, GREAT, well not so great. I remember asking for a non-smoking room, both on wotif and the reception. What hapenned? Its a typical smoking hotel. There were ashtrays in the room and the whole floor smoking, disgusting. When I went down and politely asked if the room could be cleaned whilst we went away and did our shopping I was told OK. When we got back hours later, the stench was really bad and it was far too late to argue, so out I brought the deodorant and sprayed the hell out of the room. Pumped the air con full blast and off we slept, in a room full of smoke.

Buffet breakfast was not so good, bread tasted stale even after toasting, food wasnt readily replenished, and AGAIN smokers smoking at the breakfast table! This was too much.

Dont expect to be able to change AUD here at the hotel, they dont change aussie money. You need to do this whilst you are in LoWu.

Shuttle bus was great, every 30 minutes takes you to the border and back.

Business centre was great as well. In the suites we also had free internet access so couldnt complain.

Ate at the hotel one evening was overcharged way too much, not worth it.

Overall, clean room, nice location near Dongmen, if it wasnt for the smoking rooms and the poor quality breakfast buffet I would stay here again.

We highly recommend this mid-priced hotel! At 470 Yuan a night it was a very good choice for us. There are cheaper hotels to be had but we wanted to sleep at somwhere nicee enough after a full day of haggling at Lo Hu market.

- Free breakfast for ONLY 1 person per hotel room, additional person is 110Yuan (rip off). The food was bad... well mediocre if it is for free. Paying 110 Yuan for the breakfast buffet was completely a waste of money.

- Rooms are very spacious and clean. Towels and toiletries provided.

- Within walking distance of Dong men market and a nicer department store. About a 16-20 Yuan taxi ride to/from the Lo Hu terminal (also the market) to go back to Hong Kong.

- Optional checkout at 1pm which was great!

- Don't recommend the pedi or the massage- The pedi (28 Yuan)was pretty much a soak and cutting of nails. There was not any polish, and removal of dead skin. Massage was okay- but well it was only 58 Yuan...

- I highly recommend this hotel for the rooms ONLY. I would not recommend the extra services and strongly urge you to skip the breakfast buffet.

Message me if you have any specific questions!

WE went shopping and I had my hair done.

Booked and stayed in this Hotel largely due to the reviews here on Trip Advisor - in the spirit of the community thought I would share my thoughts on it.

The room was huge and well furnished. A bit of a funny layout with the living room seperating the bedroom on one side and the bathroom on the other. There is also a (useless) kitchenette incorporated. My thoughts are that the hotel may at one stage have been a block of self contained apartments??

The room was very clean and mini bar prices very reasonable. Bathroom was showing its age a little but again very clean and functional.

Location is great with shopping nearby as well as McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut for those who either dont want to try local food or may be looking for a break from it.

The hotel also runs a free hourly bus service to Luohu Train station where the big markets are located. Makes it easy to get to them and home again with many bags of shopping :)

Check out was a bit difficult due in part to language difficulties but also because we booked and paid (or so we thought) on their web site. When checking out they wanted to charge our card again. They eventually managed to convey to us that they didnt in fact charge our credit card when we booked (despite us thinking otherwise). After a quick check on our internet banking site we were able to confirm this was the case.

Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Stayed here on the 29th April 2008, Tuesday for 1 night at only 440RMB!

When I stepped into the room, I can't believe that I only paid 440RMB for the room! It was huge, like a serviced apartment, It has a small kitchen (which in my honest opinion is useless)....a sofa area with a TV (feels very much like home)...and a seperate bedroom corner!

This hotel is very good for business. My room was on the 5th floor, and right outside my room was the lounge area.

I am on a business trip, so the sofa area was great. My business partners from China could sit down at the sofa area and we were all chatting.....(while my hubby was in the bedroom watching TV).....there are 2 TVs, one in the sofa area and one in the bedroom.

Bathroom was small, but alright, clean. No bath tub.

Free broadband, but bring your own laptop.

Hotel has free shutter bus to lohu station.

Hotel's location was great, near to Dongmen Shopping street. Opp the hotel was Pizza Hut, KFC and McDonalds. There is also a Muslim restaurant serving local chinese food opp. Mcdonalds/KFC/Pizza hut.....we ate there 1 night and the food was pretty good, reasonable priced.

Only problem....the Bed is extremely hard! I am usually not a fussy person, so when I say its hard, it really is! Its like sleeping on a wood plank.....the bed won't even sink in half an inch when both me and hubby were sleeping on it! It took me 1 hour to fall asleep!

I tried the massage because it was so cheap. I asked them to come to my room, paid extra 10RMB if you want it in your room. Did a foot massage and body massage. Foot massage was ok but body massage a nightmare. No oil was used....it was pressing and pressing and it was painful! I'd prefer the oil massages in Thailand.....

All in all, great hotel, only the bed was a let down. May consider coming back again due to its spacious room and sofa area that is really great for business....but have to reconsider due to the BED. Ok for 1night, but more than that....my back may hurt!

Nevertheless, I can't believe I paid 440RMB for it!

All about the room, you can have a look at the picture, as they describe better. What I can say is, it's huge, clean, comfy and what a pleasant experience. Coming from Hong Kong the day before, the room, the bed and the shower are just like heaven compared to the hotels in Hong Kong in the same class and price rate.

What's the unique experience:

- Hotel provides a tourist map in the room (folder you can find on writing desk), which is so helpful as I found it very hard to get Shenzhen map before. Places and marking in map are both in English and Chinese, which comes very handy when you have to ask people around for direction.

- The couch set in front of big screen TV (with 62 channels, almost half is in English), just so nice for a drink after a very tiring touring and shopping. Nice drinks with standard price (those 7-eleven prices) in the mini bar, and if you want hot drink or some quick hot food, you can use the kitchen (yes the room has kitchen!)

- Toiletries are complete, everything you need, you can just walk in easily and freely.

Check out the photos I uploaded, nothing says better.

POSITIVES

Good location. Directly besides a pedestrian bridge to Dongmen shopping street. Great if you are on a shopping trip.

The 1 br unit is fairly spacious - proably 35 sq m - but space poorly utilised.

NEGATIVES

Very poor quality breakfast. But you've plenty of noodle/congee eateries (and KFC and Mac) around.

Main lobby is located on the side road, difficult to locate. Have to tell cab driver to go to "the forner Qinghua Hotel" as hv not met any who know of Metropark. The hotel is located within the Qinghua Textile Center.

Air handling problems inherent in the building. Garbage odor wafts intermittently thru the lift lobby and sometimes into the room kitchenette.

ODDITIES

This is a hybrid: you do not get a hotel room nor a suite nor a service apartment.

The disused kitchenette (comes totally empty! dont bother to look for your microwave, you dont even get a plate!).

Strange that the wardrobe & safe are located away from the ensuite shower. The wardrobe is in the sitting room with the sofa and 23" TV. And the shower area is barely 3' wide.

We booked this hotel through Ctrip.com for a 4 night stay with 5 adults and at the time 2 under 3's.

Check-in was fine although the english speaking was a bit of a problem as the staff were not too good.

The rooms were very big and open plan although the sleeping area was half sectioned with a large wardrobe . There was a kingsize bed with a huge ceiling to floor window overlooking the city and a big desk. The living area had a 3 seater sofa (which opened into a double bed)w and a single seater with coffee table and TV, a dining area with table and 4 chairs as well as a fitted kitchen with fridge, sink and kettle.

Everything was spotlessly clean including the bathroom which had a shower cubicle and large wall sized mirror and hairdryer.

This place is about 2 minutes walk to the main shopping areas of Dongmen and there are plenty of restaurants, cafes nearby and a supermarket opposite to plenty of choice.

This place is rated as 4 star which it definately deserves as it is a great place to stay especially if it is a family or a group of friends. It is also great value as it cost just £27.00 per night per room.

Just returned from my second trip to this hotel this year. Both visits were a great experience. The hotel is located just one block away from the Dongmen Pedestrian Mall and its hundreds of shops and department stores.

The hotel rooms are modern and very comfortable. They are spacious apartment style, complete with separate lounge and kitchenette areas. Our room only cost NZ$85 per night and the fabulous buffet breakfast is only another NZ$9 pp. What great value! It's great to be so close to Dongmen as many a day we spent on our feet shopping. I recommend a massage after a long day of shopping - only Y68 per hour if the hotel staff come to your room! Alternatively, there are plenty of other places nearby and in the Dongmen area that charge about Y30 - Y40 per hour.

All the hotel staff speak english, and although some staff struggle with the language all the staff are very friendly and obliging. One staff member was very keen to help me carefully wrap up a 2m long blind for my kitchen that I purchased. The young man whisked away my purchase, returning with a big smile on his face and the blind in hand, wrapped in heavy cardboard, plenty of tape and a handle. Such is the service at this hotel.

There is a regular courtesy shuttle to and from the LoWu Commercial Shopping Centre (beside the LoWu border/train station). The subway is only a few minutes walk away (only Y5 to Windows of the World) but there are plenty of taxis.

There is a business centre on the ground floor which does not charge a lot for faxes/internet etc.

All in all, excellent value for money. I would definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it to everyone - people on business or pleasure.
