By far Landmark Shenzhen has provided me the largest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Staying here will spoil you!

Myself and everyone in my business party stayed in standard rooms which were large, very clean, suites. The beds are huge, king size and extremely comfortable. Large flat screen TV, DVD player, free internet access, complimentary water and fruit daily, and spacious comfortable sitting area and desk were all highlights. Well stocked minibar area with mini-fridge and coffee/tea supplies. Bathrooms featured both a large deep bath tub and a large shower with rain showerhead!

The Italian restaurant in the hotel is expensive. Good food, but I recommend spending your $ for meals elsewhere. But the hotel buffet is well worth trying. The gym is well equipped. Not many treadmills, but one was always available when I was there.

The staff and service is excellent! They are always able to assist with anything you need. Check in/out was quick and efficient. Location is close to shopping mall areas, super market, and many restaurant choices no more than 10-15 minutes walk away. I felt safe walking around the general area. Very close to a subway stop and not far from Lo Wu train station.

I love this hotel and will always stay here when I'm in Shenzhen.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza with my husband & 2 teenage children. We had booked 2 rooms. Check in was easy and the rooms were huge! Fresh fruit and water were delivered to the rooms, and there is a tap in the bathroom labelled drinking water, which I believe is filtered water. Our reservation included 400 RMB food vouchers, per room, per day, which we used for breakfast. Breakfast was just ok. The gym was fine and the staff helpful.

The hotel is in a good position close to shopping, restaraunts and walking distance (approx 10 min) to the wonderful Queen Spa. It is about a 20 min walk to the Lo Wu Commercial Centre. We found out on our 2nd day that the hotel have cars that will take you there at no charge. However, just note that you get dropped off at the car park at the railway station and you have to walk accross to get to the shopping centre. It is only 12.5 RMB if you wish to take a taxi there.

Just note that there are 2 hotels named Crowne Plaza and this is NOT the one that is themed in a Venetian style.

We would definitely stay here again.

The service here was great from the front desk to waiters to the IT department. The room was large with very comfortable furniture.

The biggest problem with this hotel are the crowds gathered outside the hotel at night trying to solicit guests with prostitution.

I was travelling alone on business and found this hotel to be excellent. The location was great with plenty of shopping nearby such as the King Glory Plaza and the area felt safe. Transport was also convenient and easy to use as the Guomao Metro Train station also nearby (at the King Glory Plaza). Plenty of taxis available too.

The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful (one even helped me recharge my Chinese sim card).

Breakfast was average but still ok.

I stayed on a club floor and the room was sensational. Very spacious with a large plasma screen and fantastic bathroom. Extras included free internet access in room, printer, stationery etc and you also get 4pc of free laundry per day. The club lounge with free drinks was also nice.

Overall I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

My trip to China had a 2 night buffer to enjoy Hong Kong but I was curious about Shenzhen and the Dongmen Road Markets, so I re-organised my Itinerary and cancelled my booking with the Prudential in Hong Kong.

In my search for a Hotel in Shenzhen, I had read a review about an experience not to be missed ...it was to spoil yourself with a suite at the Landmark Hotel. I managed to book a Kingbed Suite via Expedia.com for a better rate than the Delux Room rate at the Shangi-La and the Delux Room rate of the Prudential for the 10 and 11th October, 2008.

My stay at the Landmark, was the most pleasant and THE most comfortable ever, ..the staff could not do enough for me. ..It is in my opinion that anyone who has had a complaint about the Lanmark Hotel, has either brought it upon themselves or is someone that could never be satisfied anyway, they have probably traveled extensively and have lost all perspective of reality.

This Hotel is the perfect 10, even though the table limit is 5.

Fantastic stay Landmark and thanks to everyone, ...the Lanmark is truely a first class Hotel.

In July, my wife and I went for our silver wedding anniversary, and my wife insisted that we book a hotel on Tripadvisor recommendations. We did, and it was wonderful. Now I have been visiting Shenzhen on business for nearly ten years, and had stayed at many hotels, but not the Landmark. Due to the experience we had with the Tripadvisor views, I decided to try this Hotel for a weeks stay August 24 onwards. My reactions; Of all hotels I have stayed worldwide since I started travelling more than 30 years ago, this was probably my best experience. The room was enormous, the free laudary service fantastic, the food in the room service was eminently edible, the staff helpful, always there but never overbearing and with surprising English speaking skills. Even the housekeeping lady spoke passable English. The room was also well lit, with a huge window. Can't blame the Hotel for the view from the window, but everything else was near perfect. Even the free wifi internet connection, especially late at night, would download at unbelieveable speeds. My next vacation is going to be a week holed up in this hotel.

I must say that at the check-in I was not impressed by the quality of the staff: definitely they need more training. Same impressions about about everyone working here apart from some Congierge people who are quite good.

The lobby is rather small and having an army of people standing around doesn't make the place feel good. I would also change the check-in area to make it more welcoming.

However, for the price you are paying, the size of the room, and overall cleanliness, you cannot complain too much. I would probably stay again, since the location is great, just 5 min walk from GuoMao MTR station and the price is right. I stayed in a superior room, I haven't checked the standard one, but my room was quite nice, with a king-size bed, arnchair, sofa and office desk. The bathroom is particularly nice, although small, since it has both a shower and bath tub. Internet is cable only, but at least it is very fast.

Again, -like many other things in China- this would be a heck of a hotel if they improved training and personal skills with perhaps some internships overseas, language courses and better hiring.

Until I find somewhere else better in the Luohu area, I will recommend this hotel.

We booked this hotel because of all the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed.

We spent two nights in a deluxe room, which whilst not huge, was roomy enough with a divine comfortable bed and lovely furnishings.. It was just what we needed after a long flight, and then a shuttle bus which we took direct from Hong Kong Airport to the Lohu Border, then a further 30 minute wait before another bus took us to the Landmark.

We arrived very exhausted at around 11pm, but, immediately after checking in, we decided to take a look around the area.

The Landmark is located about a ten minute walk from the Dongman Pedestrian precinct which is very busy both day and night. There are plenty of other great shops all around the immediate area, and the hotel will provide you with a private new van any time you want to go to the Lohu Shopping Centre, which I think is probably the reason lots of people go to Shenzhen in the first place. It is very very cheap to take a taxi back to the hotel from the Lohu centre.

In the little street right next to the hotel is a great Muslim cafe where they make hand-stretched noodles right out front on the street. The food was excellent and cheap here.

I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to everyone.

Stayed here 2 different times with a week. Great hotel. Club floor was a great deal and I highly recommend it, faster check in at the lounge as well. Huge room, plasma TV, free wireless and rainforest shower were great. Free laundry, free breakfast, free beer on the club floor and the butler service put it over the top. Everyone was very nice, especially the butlers. A great hotel and an outstanding value. I wish every hotel was just like this one. Only thinking lacking was the breakfast buffet didn't have an abundance of choices, however I was still satisfied.

In October this year, my sister and I stayed at the Landmark Hotel in Shenzhen, China as part of a girls weekend of self indulgence i.e. shopping and spas. On arrival, after a long journey from Australia, the staff were friendly and courteous and couldn't do enough to help us with check-in, luggage, etc. The staff all spoke good English which was great for us. We were upgraded to a larger room which was just beautiful, and very well appointed. The hotel itself, whilst not new, is extremely well maintained and most elegant. Throughout our stay, the staff were wonderful, the spa in the hotel is beautiful, and very reasonably priced. Don't miss afternoon high tea, it's gorgeous and a real bargain! Can't wait to stay at this hotel again.

arriving during late evening, the registration was quickly validated by having pre-registered on the hotel's website about a month earlier, thus allowing me to proceed hastily to my room. i rate this hotel top tier for shenzhen in part due the enormous rooms, capable staff and overall ambiance. do not miss the breakfast. they have the best pork and preserved egg rice porridge i have ever eaten, and this includes comparisons to home cooking. while the shangri-la hotels set the standard for asia, the landmark is on par. the hotel will be changing its name to reflect a western chain affiliation in about two months, but it will continue to exemplify the higher standards set by hong kong and singapore hotel operators. i did not have sufficient time to take candid photos, but those offered by fellow trip advisors on this site and link are typical of the hotel.

This hotel is definitely 5-star. It may not be extremely recent but it is well kept and the service is great.

The rooms are nice and clean but not too big. My only disappointment was not getting a king size bed as I am used to. First I was offered a room with two single beds. After I made a remark, the bellboy called downstairs and promptly took me to a room with a double bed. Not king but not as bad.

Many restaurants and shopping opportunities in the area. Also walking distance to the subway.

I paid something like $80 for what feels like a 5-star hotel so this is great. I should point out that the room may be cheap but all extras are expensive (like mini bar items or laundry)

The hotel has a very good standard. Staff speaks good English with some exceptions. The rooms are very nice and well maintained. I found the hotel very quiet and the breakfast good.

The location is downtown Shenzhen, but there are not too many shopping facilities around. We tried the restaurants twice and it was o.k., not too expensive and good quality. Wireless Lan worked perfectly. We had a business meeting there and also the meeting and business area is clearly above standard.

I can definately recommend the hotel both too tourists and business people. The Executive Floor has a butler service which is very helpful and here also staff is very effective.

My family consisting of my husband and 2 children aged 8 and 6 plus my mother stayed here. This being our first trip into China we weren't sure what to expect. I have to admit we were very nicely surprised. The hotel on arrival looked very smart our first impression was very positive. Check-in was very efficient and I have to mention that there English was very good. I had booked 2 Delux Studio rooms. The size of these rooms are very generous and the biggest king size bed I've ever seen. The location was excellent as it is only a 5 minute walk to the The Dongmen walking streets which are just fantastic. If you need to go to the Lu Wu Centre the hotel has a courtesy van that will drop you off and pick up free of charge. We could not find any fault with the hotel at all. I highly recommend this hotel.

we stayed at the king studio room 3-22--07 thru 3-25-07.

the size of the beds was good enough for 4 of us.

my parent, me and my 2 years old son. we needed the extra bed at the deluxe room of the Marco Polo Hong Kong hotel but here in Landmark was not needed. everyday we had gotten some fresh fruits when we come back to the room. whenever we go to the LoWu shopping mall the staff drive us to there. also right next to the hotel, there is a Japapnese noodle house, they make the soba noodle right in front... tasted even better than Tokyo, Japan. pretty much we enjoyed Shen Zhen more than Hong Kong. we also tried the Queen's spa and dining on the rainy day, it was very nice.. they have unlimited fruites bar included on the enterance fee, also fantastic body and foot massage and spa... my whole family lkie here very much. definately want to stay here again...

I have stayed in a few hotels in Shenzhen over the last 2 years, and they all largely look good on the outside and are pretty shocking once you get through the front door.

The Landmark however is a breath of fresh air. I had resisted it prior as it was not near our offices however I was so fed up of bad hotels, rock hard beds, inedible food and random service that I took the plunge and decided to spend the extra 15 minutes in a cab each morning.

The hotel is what one should expect from a 5 star hotel. I stayed in a King Room Deluxe. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very modern. The bathrooms are lovely, with a great bath and a very powerful rain shower which I can assure you awakens you from the stupour of a whiskey fuelled night in Shenzhen.

The service is pretty good, but having been indoctrinated with bad Chinese service over the years, I imagine it would be regarded as average for those visiting China for the first time. I did order room service which I abandoned after 40 minutes and low and behold it arrived as I walked to the lift. However they did not put it on the bill which is the right thing to do but not always the done thing.

The breakfast was ok, not spectacular but very solid and although I did not try the restaurants I did hear from some colleagues that the food was quite good.

So in short this must be the best place to stay in Shenzhen if you are looking for a Western style 5 star experience. Over time I am sure more hotels will open and eventually overtake The Landmark. However these guys have now set the standard and I look forward to others exceeding it over time.

Whilst it advertises itself as an all-suite hotel, the "suites" are created by opening the doors to adjacent rooms. For that luxury, they charge more than if 2 separate rooms were booked.

My family and I stayed in 2 separate rooms on 2 separate floors because they couldn't give us 1 room with a double bed and another with 2 twin beds. Asking for twin beds drew curious looks from the receptionists. The hotel assigned a "double" room to my parents. When we opened the door, the bed was a twin bed. Oddly enough, the size of the bathroom was larger than the room itself. Unsatisfied, we returned to ask for a room with a bigger bed. This was when it was explained that because we didn't book a "suite", that we were assigned to the "mews" rooms at the end of different floors.

It was decided to upgrade my parents to a bigger room that had a king sized bed. My sister and I on the other hand, were consigned to a "mews" room with 2 twin beds.

The rest of our stay was pleasant enough - service staff were very polite and prompt with requests for mineral water and extra bedroom slippers. The location of the hotel is also fantastic, as it's only a short car ride away from the famous Luo Hu Commercial complex by the railway station, and the hotel offers free shuttle there and back.

The beds are quite difficult to sleep on. I can't really put my finger on it, but it just didn't feel comfortable.

However, the staff don't speak English well/at all and on the last day, a request for packets of instant coffee were misunderstood and fresh coffee was brought up to the room instead. After much to-ing and fro-ing, the F&B manager finally took the fresh coffee away upon our insistence that we didn't ask for room service.

All in all, it was an ok experience. Rooms were spotless, location was great, but the Landmark Hotel was let down by its strange pricing policy and the staff's poor command of English.

My husband and I stayed at the Landmark hotel last July as we wanted to have a couple of days to visit Luo Hu (Lo Wu) shopping centre and Da Fen painting village. We stayed in a King Studio (48 sq. m.) and it was the best room we had ever stayed in except for the 6* Empire Hotel in Brunei. We enjoyed the Landmark Hotel so much that we cut short our visit to Hong Kong in January this year to have more time at the Landmark in Shenzhen.

This time we upgraded to a Club Executive Suite (79 sq. m.) as we were accompanied by our daughter. It was a perfect arrangement as both rooms had a bathroom and a large plasma TV. The Club rate includes unlimited free laundry, snacks throughout the day and Happy Hour between 5pm and 8pm. The staff altered the menu for Happy Hour to suit our tastes, which we greatly appreciated.

Breakfast was available in the 26th floor Club Lounge as well as the 3rd floor. There was plenty of choice for both western and eastern tastes. Jenny in the Cafe on the 3rd floor is a very professional captain.

The staff was amazingly attentive and professional. Special thanks to Miki and Jeff, the personal butlers for each trip.

The exercise area, treatment room and swimming pool were also 1st class.

The hotel runs a free shuttle service to Luo Hu shopping centre and it is quite easy to get a taxi back to the hotel. The shuttle service also took us to some other destinations.

We used a transfer service (Tarago sized vehicle) to return to Hong Kong airport; it took about 2 hours and cost A$30 per head. Excellent value, as we were rather overloaded with shopping by the time it came to return to Perth. It would be quite difficult to return to HK airport using the KCR and MTR trains with the amount of luggage we had by then.

The reverse trip is also available from Hong Kong airport to the Landmark Hotel. Go to Booth A209 at the airport to book.

In summary, I would recommend the Landmark Hotel to anyone who likes a spacious, classy room with helpful and attentive staff.

This is an exceptional hotel, with rooms as comfortable as any I have stayed, and I travel constantly all over the world. The bed was supurb and the shower was the best ever, with multiple heads and a huge overhead "rain-maker". The staff was friendly and helpful and professional. Our room included a very good buffet breakfast and a 200 RMB discount coupon for dinner in the Chinese restaurant that was excellent. Five Star hotels in China are amazing in general (service) but this hotel is the best I have experienced.

Just returned from Shenzhen-out ran the typhoon!! My husband, son and I stayed at the Landmark and really enjoyed it. The room-which was a suite -was incredibily roomy and the refurbishment excellent. Our son was in a connecting room(part of the suite) with his own ensuite bathroom with spa bath and large walk-in shower and small plasma TV on the bedroom wall. My husband and I had a huge king size bed, large plasma screen and ensuite bathroom-all marble, rosewood furniture etc. Not modern, edgy design statement but very plush, new and comfortable.

Any time we wanted to go to LoWu commercial centre to shop(which is all we did while in Shenzhen) the hotel would drive us there and we took a taxi back as it was only 5-10minutes away) Neither Shenzhen nor LoWu were as grotty or dodgy as I had been lead to believe- any crime or prostitution wasn't in your face and although we didn't see much more than our hotel and LoWu, we didn't feel "unsafe" at any time.

The only difficulty regarding the hotel was the lack of English speaking skills-which combined with our lack of Cantonese or Mandarin skills, sometimes caused a little confusion. This is a problem not confined to this particular hotel but throughout the city-but not an issue which is insurmountable that's for sure.

We stayed for three nights in the Landmark Hotel in Shenzhen. The hotel is beautiful and the service was 5-star. The rooms are larger than most Chinese rooms which was really a plus. They were able to bring in an extra bed, so we had three beds in one room without being at all crowded. I would suggest a Club room which costs a slightly more, but it gives you a free breakfast and access to the club room where you can have excellent snacks for lunch as well as other benefits. The rooms have high speed internet which is a must for today's travelers. It is an easy taxi ride (about US$2.00) from the train station at Lo Wu to the hotel.
