The Chanel Palace Hotel rooms are very luxurious. The Hotel is extremely clean and the staff are friendly. The front lobby is very plain, however, that is more than made up in the rooms which are extremely beautiful and since you spend more time in the rooms than the lobby, I prefer to stay at this hotel when in Shenzhen. The extra cost of a standard Room upgrade to a Luxury room is well worth the extra $ 15 per night, however both rooms are very well decorated.

The Hotel costs $ 37 to $ 50 per night in US dollars, for this you get a room which is equivalent to $ 125 to $ 175 US per night (probably even more) in North America. If you have business associates book your room who are from the local area, you can get a discount on the room rate.

The only draw back in this hotel is the lack of English Language TV, with only 2 out of 40 channels in english. However, perhaps that is why the room is so reasonably priced as it seems to cater to local businessmen as opposed to foreigners.

Hint: If you stay here and want Western Food to remind you of home, goto the Raindrop Cafe which is not too far from the Hotel (best to take a cab), its steaks are like those in North America if you feel like a reminder of home during your stay.
