If you want to travel to Qingdao, you should know that all taxi driver are hustler and contrary. They just want to make money in a way you only can call cheat and theft. I never made this kind of experience in an other city here in China. So be careful

The place is awesome, with a lot of facilities for the guests .. the restaurant has pretty good breakfasts, although the service takes too long ... but, if I have/want to go to Qindao again, I won't think about the place twice.. just i'll book the room in Kaiyue Hostel.

I found Qingdao Kaiyue International Hostel a lovely place to stay. Everyone was friendly and the facility was lovely.
Kaiyue might not be the most modern hostel you ever stay in - yes the rooms are mostly in their original state from the hostel's days as a church, and yes, the location isn't beach side, but this should not deter anyone from staying at Kaiyue. I couldn't recommend this hostel enough! The character is great, I love the old feeling, and the new bar is genuinely gorgeous and an awesome place to hang out . What really makes Kaiyue worth it, besides the bar with cheap drinks (all between 10 and 30 ku
Amazing renovation since the last time I was there (at least in the common area)! It looks great. Food was great too, and the staff was very helpful. This hostel is located in the old German quarter with easy bus access to the new part of town where there are some western cafes.
We cannot say enough good things about this hostel - we loved it and you will love it, too. The owners and staff are fantastic, friendly, helpful and always smiling. The common area is the most beautiful I've ever seen in a hostel, the coffee is good, rooms are spotless and plenty of hot water. We loved it!
