This is a large hotel on the outskirts of Lijiang. That said its only a 9-10RMB taxi ride to the old town, which is where most people will head. The view from the breakfast room, is incredible, as on a clear day you can see Jade Dragon Snow mountain in all its majestic beauty. We had a bit of trouble when we checked in, through no fault of the hotel, ( our travel agent had submitted the wrong names) but communicating in English was a bit of a problem, and in general if its the basics you want to ask, you will have no problem, once it gets beyond basic questions, you had better have some patience. One of the main problems is trying to get information at the hotel, on about what to do in the area, or how to go about doing it. We spent quite a lot of time doing the things the hard way, because of this, but intend to write a review on the location to help people organise their trips a little easier. Back to the hotel, it has nice size rooms, hard beds (as they tend to be in China), good showers, baths and a small desk with FREE internet connection in each room. The swimming pool was too cold to swim in, in December, the gym looked well equiped and they had a snooker room too. The Breakfast was okay, although after five days, we were getting tired of the same choice. We ate in the hotel twice, once using the Buffet, which is about 100RMB per head, and the choice was pretty good, albeit on the day in question we were the only ones eating in the restaurant and the food appeared to have been hanging around a little too long. (A convention a few days later changed all that as the breakfast and buffets were jammed solid at certain times). We also ate in the Chinese Restaurant, once again, the only ones present, but the food was very good. The best bet, is to limit your eating at the hotel, and get into Town, for a bigger choice and cheaper too. We had a good find eating at Bon Apetitos, which serves excellent Italian and Chinese Food, the chef, having spent six years working in an Italian Restaurant. The Hostess Maggie, is a star too, and can help you with your trip, as she speaks great English. Weather wise we were very lucky, brilliant sunny days and a clear blue sky. Things not to miss include Leaping Tiger Gorge, Jade Dragaon Snow Mountain and the Impressions show in the park around the the mountain, please note you have to pay an 80RMB entrance fee to the park, and every visitor has to pay 80RMB to help towards preserving the Lijiang Old Town which we paid upon check in at the hotel, and you will be asked to produce the receipt from time to time, so keep it with you. The Impression show is from the same director as the one who produced the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, show times at 10.00 and 1.30, last about 90 minutes and costs 190RMB for a normal ticket and 260RMB for VIP ticket, its money well spent, great show in a brilliant location. I was fairly happy athe hotel, but could not help feel, for the amount of time we spent in our rooms, finding a cheaper hotel, might have been money better spent.

We loved the hotel and location. The hotel is decorated beautifully, is quite large, has a great view and is well located outside of the city hustle and bustle. The staff were friendly and helpful although they struggled with English. They really tried hard to please. The assistant manager went so far as to go with a taxi to pick us up at Jade Water Village (about 30 mins away) when we called and asked them to send a cab.

We stayed here based on the other reviews of this website and were not disappointed. We moved from another hotel in the old town of Lijiang which was very noisy, and the calm serenity of this hotel was wonderful. The rooms are large and well designed, with a glass walled bathroom.

The (complimentary) dinner and breakfast were both very good by Chinese hotel standards, and nearly up to International hotel standards.

Most impressive, however, was the service. The (complimentary) laundry service was great, and they even arranged for cleaned clothes to be hanging neatly in our new room when we returned to the hotel after two days of travelling to a different city.

This is a wonderful new hotel with very nice and up to date rooms. Breakfast buffet was very good. Comfortable and western style beds.

Only negative is distance to old section of town. Cabs are easy to get and cheap, so that is not a big issue.

If have just visited the Lijiang International Hotel for 2 nights. I must say that before I have had booked the hotel, I didn't expect that my stay would be so comfortable.

The hotel has only been open for a few months and is build completely in 'naxi' style, one of the 56 minority groups in China. In some ways it is also been integrated in the hotel, like the beds (close to each other) and the interior.

The hotel is ideally located in the commercial street of Lijiang at just a 5 minute walk away from the Ancient city. While their are enough taxi's driving in Lijiang any taxi driver could find its way to the hotel. I paid for the taxi transfer from the airport to the hotel around 80 RMB and it took about 30 minutes.

The service of the hotel is excellent. All staff members are trying to speak English with you and even when it is getting difficult for them they are still trying to speak to you.

The restaurants in the hotel are reasonable, with a good mix of Chinese, Local but also Western dishes. Also the breakfast buffet is proficient, with a large variety of Western but also Chinese dishes.

On my second day in Lijiang I booked a tour with a local tour company with the help of the Hotel. Although the tour was in Chinese, the hotel made a great effort in helping me getting on this tour.

I will sure visit this hotel again in the near future.

I have heard that Lijiang has several good hotel, but by my experience i love this hotel.be WoWed by its bathroom facilities. and the view from my room is really fantastic we wake up to grandeur of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from our balcony. this hotel has a beautiful lobby with waterfall cascading while you check in. The only minor problem is its a long walk to your rooms. but its worth it. room are clean and warm. its location is secluded area so you need to hire a car or taxi to get around.

Lijiang is truly a fantastic place with very nice people.we really enjoyed our stay and our tour. the breakfast buffet is fair. i have seen better display and food choices in other hotel in China. but its egg and noodles cart is great!

As long as you don't mind being within walking distance of nowhere, you will not do better in Li Jiang than this huge, new, modern five star hotel.

The facility can't be beat. Big, new room with a nice view of the newly landscaped grounds and the mountain. Modern bathroom, with comfty rainforest shower, although the unfortunate choice of a river pebble floor is like walking on hot coals without the heat. Sandals recommended. The heat in the room didn't seem to be on all the time, but it wasn't much of a problem and is not unusual for a Chinese hotel.

Like most hotels in Yunnan, this hotel caters mostly to Chinese tourists. But non-Chinese speakers should find it easy to cope. The service was excellent, once we managed to convey our requests, which is not simple as the staff mostly speaks no English. This is pretty standard in Yunnan. What worked best for us was to visit the reception desk and ask them. Just phoning reception was less successful here than in the other hotels we stayed in.

The buffet breakfast is likely to disappoint Westerners who don't like Chinese food (but then what are you doing in Yunnan?). Still, I was happier once I located the egg and noodle station hidden away at the far end of outer dining area. Try the spicy topping on your breakfast noodle.

Many of the rooms are a long trek from the lobby and dining room, so you might want to ask for something close in. Internet computers are available for 15 yuan for 30 min.

Although located a bit away (15min by car or RMB 10 taxi) from the Lijiang Old Town, the Treasure Harbour is probably the best hotel in Lijiang. Located on the way to Yulong Shueshan and close to the Shuhe Old Town, you'll definitely get a good night's sleep.

Travelers pampered by 5-star international chains will be slightly disappointed, as this hotel is a "Chinese 5-star Hotel". The hardware is top-notch but the service leaves some things to be desired. All rooms are located at either of 2 extremes of the hotel, which are at least a 5 min walk from the lobby through a maze of corridors and turns. The numbering for the same room on different floors is different which makes finding your room a bit difficult.

Rooms are very large, with a separate shower and bathtub in a very modern bathroom featuring a window looking into the room. Internet access is free if you bring your own laptop, although slow.

The pool is unheated, at a very chilly 20C supposedly because it is fed by water from the mountains. The gym also looked to be decently equipped.

Breakfast in the cafe was decent with a choice of fresh fruits, pastries and Chinese dishes, although the wait for an omelet was almost 10 min.

The Concierge/Bell Stand was staffed by some local kids in their early 20s who weren't particularly familiar with the local tourist destinations.

There is nothing within walking distance, so you'll have to take a cab or hire a car to get anywhere.
