Wonderful Guesthouse. Many thanks go to May who organised our over night tour to Tiger Leaping Gorge
This is honestly one of the best hostels I have stayed at in China in six months. The staff are incredibly knowledgable and helpful, they went out of their way to help us organise our Tiger Leaping Gorge trip. The common area is great and they make an alright breakfast. It's a short 10 minute walk to the Ancient Town center so isn't as noisy as closer hostels. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when I revisit LiJiang
panba is very nice - very "western" like, with beautiful view, a bit far from the center and expensive if you are on a budget
We have a really nice memory staying at Panba GH. The staff is super friendly, the overall atmosphere is chilled out, young but yet professional with good service.
The Gh is quite new (opened in december2006 I think) and you can tell: it smells brand new in the big bedrooms with very comfy beds, big bathroom, the sharing area is nicely decorated and there is 2 brand new computers with fast internet for us to use whenever we want. The rooms on the upper floor has a impressive view on the roofs of Lijiang. Just one thing we were not totally confortable with: the room's windows dont close properly. there are built in a wood traditional way, so they can slide easily from the outside. But I think the GH is really safe, and can only welcome 20 guest at a time.
The breakfast choice was a bit limited though: toasts or fried rice (ok good), but in Lijiang, we werent struck by the food anyway. You can share dinner with the staff against a cheap financial participation but we didn't tried it.
Overall great place with great value (100 yuan a night in june) to stay in the enchanting Lijiang!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Panba, the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. The common area was cozy and great to meet other travelers. Overall, this place is superb and you should stay here!
This is a fantastic hostel! The staff is very friendly, their family style dinner is *delicious*, the building is lovely and clean, location is great. We can't say enough - you will love it!

This place is wonderful!! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, perfect clean rooms, and a cozy (but not dull) atmosphere. This would be our first choice in Lijiang again for sure!!!
This was my favourite guest house in China, it has really nice clean rooms, which are very comfortable and warm, the staff are excellent and try their very best to make your stay as good as possible, you can have dinner with them, there is a really nice court yard, barbaque, and even a DVD room with a good selection of movies to choose from. It is in a really good location which is right beside all the main attractions but still quiet and relaxing. It has free internet and a great atmosphere which felt like a home away from home. I was sad to leave.
