The No 4 guesthouse has actually changed location (old adress was in Huguo Lu, with Amy's cafe).

We moved to this guesthouse after meeting Hai Ing, the manager of No 4 guesthouse when we were looking for information about Dali's activities. Hai Ing is very kind and importantly, she speaks really good english! :)

I cannot praise you enough with this guesthouse:

for only 60 yuan (yes sixty), we had a 5* equivalent hotel room, everything was new ,even the bathroom was modern. We had free internet and free washing machine as well. For this price we couldnt believe it. We could hear some karaoke in the evening but we were so tired and the beds were so comfortable that we would fell asleep swift, so it wasn't a problem.

The place is slightly outside of the old Dali, at the top of one street, but its just a 5 minutes walk really. If you are lucky, you might stay there in a market day: this very street is full of people, its so lively and colorful (the minorities!)...and even dentist outdoor! that was one of the highlight of our trip in yunnan.

Hai Ing and her boyfriend can pick up up anytime (if they are not busy) if you are anywhere in Dali. Free of charge of course.

They organize tours as well, whatever you ask them, you can arrange that. We went to an old village (dont remember the name :( ), a muslim village (great to see the diversity) and a rural market for 230yuan for the day. Whatever the number of people in the minivan it was the same price so you could make a good deal if you had friends. The guide and driver is actually Hai Ing's boyfriend and he is really nice.

Overall, for this price, this is a real find.
